Great, I don't like spending much on Quintero as it is. I'm assuming this is is probably intended for Duty Free.

As for me, I just stick the Favoritos in D4 or Boli RC tubes.

They used to sell a tubulares in the UK that was basically a tubed quintero panatela. It is mentioned on cuban cigar website and still being sold by at least one UK vendor. I'm a bit of a quintero fan. Great value!

Looking forward to trying these out. Had a Favorito this afternoon. Quinteros are one of the best values around.

Just tried my first one the other day. Not bad at all. I haven't had a Favoritos in a long time so I can't compare, but the Tubulares was enjoyable. I scored it about an 89-90. It burned very rapidly but draw and construction was fine.

The price point on these is almost there for me but not quite. It's just a tad longer than a Marevas and at over $4/stick, it's tough not to spend an extra $1.00-1.50/stick for a premium Marevas like RGPC or SPNP (or HUPC while it's still obtainable).

And as long as JLP Petit Cetros are still available which come in at $1.50-2.00/stick I can't really justify the QTs. And from what I hear, the Favoritos can be pretty decent, and at ~$3.00/stick for a Robusto, I think they're probably a much better value.

a 2.00 stick in a 3.00 tube for 6.00..............:o

Correct. Not very good value, and as pointed out above, rather spend the same or slightly more to get much higher quality.

Here is a unique story about this brand that you might never know unless we are friends on FB.

My maiden name is Kwinter. It is part of my FB name so pre marriage peeps know who I am, see. All my life, folks type-o'd my name, Quinter.

When I first saw this cigar brand, I felt a family, kindred spirit.

LOL.

I've gone on record many times as stating I believe firmly that the Petit Cetros are head and shoulders above the rest of the JLP models. I find no other models compare, and I firmly believe they use superior tobacco and a different blend for the Petit Cetros. The only JLP I haven't smoked is the Cazadores, but I've had plenty of Petit Caz, and they all taste the same to me except for the Petit Cetros. Sadly, they've been discontinued but there's still some stock out there from trusted vendors including Rob.

Quintero Tubulares

TEA MAY 17

Got my delivery yesterday.

Here is my first impressions...

Extremely young and a bit over humidified.

Nice presentation.

IMG_1468.thumb.JPG.26876cf32aa6a98442dbc0cb04084a19.JPG

Very pleasant aroma of sweet tobacco.

A rough wrapper but overall a really good construction with an even burn.

Mild bodied.

Sweet tobacco, honey and hints of orange peel.

Light on the nicotine.

Nothing complex, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This will make a perfect hand out cigar for any occasion and I belive it will be appreciated by both the seasoned cigar smokers as the occasional ones.
