Shrody234 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 2014 RyJ Churchill. My first ever and didn't know exactly what to expect. What I got was all smooth cream and a beautiful cherry note. 1
anjimj Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Trinidad Vigia that I picked up in Sweden. Just pure bliss all the way through. Can't wait for them to show up here. 1
AlohaStyle Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 A lot of EL fans here eh? My favorite cigar of the month was a delish ERDM Grandes de Espana... not sure on year as I got it in a MAW, but it was fantastic.

Only two released, but what a pair. Always nice when I can say good job, HSA. For batting average, 2015 is the best EL year. Even 2004 had one dud--the Hoyo Epi Especial wasn't particularly amazing IMO. Obviously, the other 3 releases were great. I'd rather have only two releases that are both excellent like 2015 than the days of five released and four duds (2003). My cigar of May: El Principe. Never lets me down:

In my experience, PSP are typically so much oilier (and often darker) and they really take longer to come around. When I received these "seconds," they looked pale, greenish and barely had any oil content. A year later, they seem to have gotten darker and have a nice sheen to them. Still, I'm used to HUPC taking 4 or 5 years to start showing that creaminess - this one took me by surprise. I assumed I was going to want to chuck it on account of ammonia, harshness and tannins. 1
GasGuy82 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Can't remember if I smoked the '03 Punch SS#1 in April or May. Assuming it was in April, my cigar of May, shockingly enough, was an OLM Jun15 RyJ Cedros de Luxe (LCDH). Hated that cigar first time I smoked it. Nine months down along with a fantastic wrapper, great roll and perfect burn led to a very enjoyable experience.
Dimmers Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 My vote was going to be for a tasty SLR Serie A 2001, but I had a PL APAC Robusto this week and it blew my socks off. Holy hell these are still getting better!
QuaiDorkay Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 BOLI RC ULA AGO 14. Amazing and was not expecting it. BOLI is not a go-to marca for me and I usually like to age but man it was so good.
dicko Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Cohiba 1966 2011 LE...cigar of the year for me so far 1
Bartolomeo Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Top 5 in no particular order MOE DIC 14 ERDM Choix MOE AGO 14 Picadores 2015 Regios/La Fuerza 98 Punch Monarcas
PatrickEwing Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Upmann PC for me as well. Only a couple years old, it had been orphaned in a dry box for months straight. It was an unnecessary late night cigar after an SLR Pacifico and it blew away one of my favorites. Perhaps I should start to listen to the humidity gospel according to PigFish.. 2

Perla Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 My outstanding cigars for May are: The revivied Cohiba IV from 2004 LGC Tainos from 2009 And an absolutly surprisingly Montecristo Joyitas. Never smoked before, bought them out of fun. Outstanding good. 2
SmittyinAZ Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 One that doesn't get much recognition IMO....Upmann Royal Rubusto. LUB 14. Everything you want in an Upmann. Simply perfect.
ayepatz Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Not including Alex and Reynaldo customs, Monte 1 in Havana.
Orion21 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 SCDLH Torreon. I smoked two this month and they were amazing. They are expensive, but live up to the pricing. I have had more expensive cigars that weren't even close. 2
planetary Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I suffered from heavy allergies last month, and with allergies come (for me) a reduction in taste and smell. I smoked just one cigar a week hoping that my senses would recover. Alas, they did, just yesterday, when my potential sacrifice was an PSP Upmann Magnum 50 from MUL MAR 15. I whooped with joy, as I was once again able to taste something approaching subtleties and rich flavors.

Though I'm a Diplo "homer" I feel this cigar has what it takes to be a high 90's cigar when mature. Buy,Buy,Buy!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Same, that and a Reynaldo lancero.
