Cracker effort gents with quite a few of you nailing this one clap.gif

In retospect when you revisit the reviews posted you see plenty of : pure honey/leather, fruit (white/yellow), cream, stone fruit, woody, apricot, cinnamon, almonds etc.

Welcome to the Saint Luis Rey Serie A MOE OCT 14

Please post your Review for Cigar Number 2 on this thread by May the 2nd. Do not disclose your pick but rather e-mail it to [email protected] before the cutoff date.

For those who nailed cigar number one!

A $25 credit for any cigar you pick right to be used on a box (or sampler) purchase over $125 (USD/AUD) from the carts or 24:24 stock. This must be used within 20 days of the winners of that round being announced. It can not be applied to orders you have already made. To make it easy, you have until the end of April.

I look forward to your reviews on Cigar number 2!

0 for 1! .....I don't feel nearly as bad about my guess with 20 people guessing same as me! I feel much better being wrong when so many veteran smokers were in my company! Haha! On to number 2! Congrats to the ones who chose correctly, amazing job!

We gonna see any of these on 24:24 any time soon?

That one didn't even cross my board. I thought the Punch Punch, the Epi 1 and my pick of a Mag 46. Only reason I went mag 46 is cause I searched some reviews and seemed to hit a lot of the same things I did after I wrote mine.

Oh well next time... Put me down for a box of these eventually.

It really thrills me that you enjoyed the cigar party.gif . As for 24;24, they will be there when they are there but nothing on the immediate horizon.

I was with the majority and went punch punch. Only reason is that I've tried a punch once before and didn't enjoy it and wasn't really a fan of this either.

Looking forward to cigar number 2!

Sweet! No 0-fer this year!!! As I said in my review, this was a complete guess as I have only had one Cuban corona gorda (Cohiba Siglo IV) in my life. I based my selection from another cigar (SLR Regios) I had had in the past that reminded me of Cigar No. 1...the stone fruit and sweetness allowed me to come to my WAG...they weren't exactly alike, but I could tell they came from the same "DNA".

I was torn between JL1 and SLR A. Was leaning SLR A, but changed to the JL1 because SLR A has been a little harder to come by recently. Figured the odds favored it being the more readily available JL1. Also had never had SLR A, and the blind sample didn't seem familiar at all. Lesson learned. I have this sinking feeling this may have been my one chance to get one of these right, and I bottled it.

Good choice, can't wait to try the next one.

You and me both! I had eliminated the other Corona Gordas and it was just a toss up between these two. My reasoning on supply and SLR experience (none) were the same as well. Better luck to the both of us on the next round!

Excellent choice of cigar Prez; I will be getting a box of these at some point. I had no idea Saint Luis Rey had that much sweetness in it but it was a treat!

Process of elimination for me on this one. I haven't smoked much SLR in the last few years but I have smoked almost all the other corona gordas. Couldn't peg it on the Serie A but it certainly wasn't the Punch, Mag 46 or JL 1. Recent Punch have been wood bombs; it was missing the classic Upmann aroma, and recent JL 1/2 have been much stronger than this was. I thought possibly the Ex 3, but the lack of any classic cherry RyJ flavors coupled with the Ex 3s recent scarcity pointed me to the only remaining option--the Serie A.

Strangely I got quite a lot of wood in the last half of my example and was main reason I chose Punch. I agree recent Punch Punch have been very woody. The stone fruit was the flavor which threw me off quite a lot. Hadn't had that in any Corona Gorda except maybe RA Club Allones. I really wish mine hadn't had such a poor burn. Maybe some other flavors have come out. However that being said it would have just been pure luck for me to guess the SLR A--never had one. I'm really surprised so many people got it right! Truly amazing job again.

I was lucky enough to grab this box code in June 2015. Like El Pres said, they'll come up again when they come up.

It came down to that and punch punch punch for me and I got it wrong! It really reminded of an aged punch which made it very tricky! Especially because I just smoked one the week before. Great smoke. 0/1.

For me it was between the Punch and the Serie A. Beginners luck.

Keeping my lips sealed. Clearly beginners luck played a large role for me! Contest is lots of fun!
