perkinke Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Do you rest your wrists heavily while typing? My work laptop does this sometimes when I push down on the case near the trackpad. My IT folks disabled the trackpad entirely and solved the problem.
First Lady Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 It sounds like a driver issue for the mouse or the graphics drivers. I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse driver first and if no joy then try the graphics driver. Sent from my Wileyfox Swift using Tapatal This is Rob we are talking about LOLOL if he can't fix it with gaffer tape, a bungy cord or zip ties it gets thrown away
SofaKing Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I like the hammer idea most Gratifying yes, approval by the company accountant or Di, not so much.
melies Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Update to windows 10? Windows 8 is horrible... also buy a mac. 1
backslide Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 No everyone wants to be locked into a communist platform that's Apple. 3
mgravito Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 No everyone wants to be locked into a communist platform that's Apple. Agreed, but it's also the least fussy situation for someone who's looking for a simple solution that just works when you need it to. 2
potpest Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Let's not turn this into whether apple is better than Windows. Its like listening to an atheist and a theist debating the existence of god.
oliverdst Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Let's not turn this into whether apple is better than Windows. Its like listening to an atheist and a theist debating the existence of god. It always goes this way.
Oscar300 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Throw it, get a MAC and then a 13yo to show you how to use it. There bamboozling when you have grown up with windows.
LordAnubis Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Go on pres, get a mac. See how well it integrates with your samsung phone... i look forward to the next IT thread you create
westg Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 The Toshiba would make a good set of scales for those webbed feet of yours ...check out the fat bastard weigh in folks... 1
Squarehead Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Cheers for that. I will try a few of the recommendations when in the Qantas lounge this afternoon. Happens when using mouse or touchpad. I like the hammer idea most My first choice no matter what I do
El Presidente Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 The Toshiba would make a good set of scales for those webbed feet of yours ...check out the fat bastard weigh in folks... I am one hell of a swimmer
El Presidente Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 So, on the track pad... Sharply and somewhat forcefully, press/push each corner, simultaneously, each diagonal. Tap at it a little bit. Reason being, after a few years, some grime, and dead skin cells, and in your case, ash, will build up, and the trackpad can get sticky or stuck. Bash at it a couple times, focussing on the opposite diagonal corner, and it should free it up. Bloody hell Jeremy.....it worked ! No random mouse movements now for 24 hours. 2
Jeremy Festa Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Bloody hell Jeremy.....it worked ! No random mouse movements now for 24 hours. Don't want to sound cocky, but I was waiting for this post. Was actually going to swing past and do it for you, in case you thought I was joking. 1
Fuzz AI Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 So... you're not getting a mac? Nah, he's doing the Fat Bastard comp, so no Big Macs.
parabola66 Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 This may sound stupid.. but does it happen when you are typing? Or do you rest your hand on the laptop while you are using the mouse? I have run into a lot of users who accidentally touch the mousepad and have the mouse bouncing all over the screen.. then they call me saying their laptop is acting crazy or is broken.. turns out it is user error.

Happened when I was typing. Happened when I was a foot away just watching it. 36 hrs now and all is good
