...are hilarious! Sitting by the window of a cigar lounge in London, I've never seen so many double-takes from passers-by in my life!

One woman even came in to buy cigars and complained about the smoke!!!

Merry Christmas!

Gone of the days of smoking tobacco being accepted in mainstream society - people should mind their own...

I don't know why it's fine to walk down the street smoking e-cigs and those bong type items lol - keep hearing "oh it's healthier" but to be honest it's so new the long term affects are not known

Anyway @ayepatz enjoy your smoke brother!

The days of smoking in public in the U.S.seem to be long gone. Yet, I have always prefered smoking in private locations; at home, on the patio, at a cabin in the woods, in nature (my favorite), on a private boat, in a private pool, on a lake, in a lake. The only public place I can't resist is on a golf course and where I golf no one seems to complain.

Smoking is like saying Merry Christmas. I don't give a **** who it offends!! Gods-speed brother!!!

I should be protected from the reflected light that comes off some of these butt-ugly people, but you don't see me complaining!

What lounge was this?

In London, I try and stick to the cigar lounges in hotels, more discreet and comfortable with better hours but of course the selection on offer is far smaller than somewhere like JJs.

Cigars are definitely seen by most as relics of the past and just plain stinky smokestacks. I don't think there's anything more out of fashion. They don't appreciate the fact that we need a peaceful area to relax and enjoy our cigars undisturbed.

I enjoy cigars privately just fine but to me cigars can be a very social activity and I'd rather not have to be forced to become a hermit smoker. All else being equal, I'd probably rather smoke in a climate-controlled lounge with a comfortable chair.

As far as criticism, I really stand up for myself. I'm a productive, decent individual who is exercising my right to consume what I wish. If people were really consistent they'd shoot their dirty looks at people eating Big Macs in the window of McDonald's since that's far more disgusting and harmful than any cigar. Oh wait--they're the ones in those windows...

I've always thought as a cigar lover I was born 100 years too late.

Yeah curious where you are.. i don't know any that visible from public view...

It can't be any of the shops Mus as their windows can't display any tobacco products or look into the shop, has to be some kind of barrier of an accessories display without the real goodies.

Trying to think of any of the hotels that have a street facing lounge, most are tucked at the back like number 10 Manchester or upstairs.....or beat of all under the pavement like the excellent smoking area in the Crowne Plaza in the City!

Sucking on a piece of electrically charged plastic filled with unknown chemicals seems rather odd to me. I would think cigar tobacco would be safer. But hey what do I know. Give it ten years when everyone's boobs and testicles are falling off and give them the old I told you so..... Seems to work for me.

This time of year brings many non cigar people into the store to purchase cigars and accessories as gifts. Some of the questions bring a smile to my face.

"i want to purchase a box of your healthiest cigars?" lmao.gif

I love the healthy cigars. They are the best. Just like the healthiest burger or healthiest bacon.

"Why, all of our cigars are gluten free, with no additives - the healthiest you'll find anywhere"

Floridita on Wardour Street. Found myself with an hour free and popped in to enjoy my first Party Short. MUO JUL 13, if memory serves. The window seat was wonderfully conspicuous. Priceless.

keep those up on the deck so they have to walk up stairs. that is healthy.

people are strange. when in helsinki a few months ago, i was having a cigar outside a bar - they had a table etc and i'd checked and all good. a woman walking up the footpath sees me and starts making faces and waving away the smoke etc etc, long before she gets near me - but the wind was blowing from behind her. a beagle couldn't have detected smoke where she was. i did make sure that she had plenty of smoke to walk through when she finally got there.

Unbelievable. This woman walked to a cigar lounge where 3 people were smoking, and wafted her hand in front of her face, muttering "Smokey!" through a face like a bulldog licking piss off a thistle. Her reason for being there? To buy cigars. Wtf!?!?
