Disgusting. The CRS was bad enough @58. I do smoke the odd BHK56 and enjoy them. But 60RG * 7 inches is really gross. This will do well with the American market, especially those new to CC's. Othe

My Cohiba Weighs A Ton?

Thanks for the info but these rings gauges are really starting to grind my gears...

That is exactly the size of the Cohiba Platino I had heard about. 60 X 178.

I had been hearing much smaller production numbers though, 50 humidors of 50 for 2,500 cigars in total.

5,000 jars could be a possibility.

I have heard the planned price of the Platino humidor (a multiple of what the original Behike cost) so I would be surprised if they diluted the value of the cigar with an extra 5,000 jars of 25 of them. Who knows though.

For example, for the Cohiba Oro (58 X 150) I have heard 1,966 boxes of 20.

And that reminds me, I met Alex Avellar a couple of times in Havana this trip. I met him first at the Partagas shop, where I thought he was Marcus Daniel and I went up and said hi! Wrong guy, but they look very similar and he took it well!

I met him again out one night in a bar, he was with a friend of his and I was with a US friend of mine. we had a great laugh.

Very, very nice guy.

Who are these people who gravitate towards 56+ RG? Jeez...

Anything 54+ is so uncomfortable to smoke for me. 60 is just obnoxious. And yes, I'm aware that there are lots of NCs that are even thicker...shead.gif

For me 56 is about the limit I enjoy, I have some boxes of CRS's but don't see myself having one very often as the RG is beyond what I enjoy. Can't see myself ever buying a 60 or larger RG.

Fat cigars and jars sell. Habanos would sell fat Guantanameras with 2 bands in a jar and they'd sell quicker than hot baguettes. Sucks for cigar lover. Great for Habanos' pockets.

Why not a 100RG cigar, and while we're at it, price it at 9999USD with 10 bands and a platinum diamond encrusted box.

Haha, it sounds to me like you just described the latest offering from Gurka.

The passed year, I've been excited for some news on what the 50th anniversary release from Cohiba woukd be... This is really disappointing though. 60RG is just too much. I was under the impression they would do something more classic, more timeless than take this route.

As a diehard Cohiba fan, the size comes at a dissapointment. A buddy and I were already discussing making the splurge for the 50 Anni offering......and not any longer....

For me, the Hdm San Juan is probably my threshold. At least the cohiba pirex has a tapered end for comfort.

I've glossed over my CRS many times because of the size.

But I guess Cohiba did me a favor. Saved me some solid coin I was going to allocate to the Anni release and now I can justify multiple other purchases:)
