Popular Post canadianbeaver Posted March 19, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 19, 2015 Been getting lots of old family photos in the past few days. But the best ones came just now and I know you guys will love them. This is my father Monte's uncle Zalmud. His father Aaron's brother. Gotta love it! 14
JohnS Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Great photos. What era are these...1940's or 1950's perhaps? 1
Rye Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Great pics! That second photo is a great capture, with amazing clarity for the time 1
raymond5737 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 The last photo in the hat with that great smile is priceless! 1
mash Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 It always amazes me how people in our parents' generation dressed, even now. You see men in their 80's and 90's who won't go outside of the house without a shirt and tie. 3
Quint Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Great Photo's....ah those were the days when Cubans were legal and no one cared....lol 1
canadianbeaver Posted March 19, 2015 Author Posted March 19, 2015 Glad you guys are enjoying them as I did. I think these are from the late '50s early 1960's. Nice big cigar in the second two photos!

canadianbeaver Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 Learned some info about ol' uncle Zalman - his name, not Zalmud. He was a real jokester but his past as a camp survivor gave him some unique habits. Like sewing money in the lining of his coat. One time at a family function, a wedding or something like that, coats were mixed up in the coat check room. He just about had a heart attack. Another story about him was at a funeral after the service. The family gathered at the cemetery for the burial. The story went that Uncle Zalman fell into a hole dug for another funeral and they had to get him out. A wonderful, colourful guy!!
