I'm bringing this up because I just posted a pic of my newest delivery of Piramide Selection box from 03 on InstaGram (@manny_mcgropez ). Right away I was contacted by another individual saying " your cigars are fake, sorry"... I was like "Who's this wanker" @rafaelrogers (so you know i'm taking about you if you are on this forum). He then proceeds to "educate me" on the cohiba band only and can tell by just looking at my picture that my cigars are fake... I then replied, "well the picture was taken at an angle and the band is correct bla bla bla... I then proceed to tell him "well, my purchase was from a very reputable vendor in Australia" So then this guy tags me someone called @the_cigar_enforcer . So this guy looks for "leads" on fake cigars and i'm going threw his page looking and i'm like, ok obvious fakes on some of his tags but others, im not so sure about... If anyone can spot every fake by just looking at one picture then you have a gift my friend, the gift of being a jackass! So what do you guys think? Ok, I feel better now.... 6

Ryan Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Arguments can sometimes be settled by encouraging the person you're arguing with to take their point to its logical conclusion and see then if it still makes sense. That usually doesn't work on the Internet as there's often little logic and rarely accountability. It can be infuriating, I know. We've all been there and I'll be there again. All you can do is try not to let it bother you. Enjoy your cigars! 1

He was actually kind enough to post his comments on an older picture, I thought "Nice, a concerned BOTL I can appreciate that" then as we discussed my picture and his only reply was "sorry" "but its fake" over and over etc... I then just ignored the guy after that. I even politely asked "why do you say my cigars are fake" anyways that conversation went no where... go figure...

Ginseng Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I know quite a bit about the analysis of counterfeit cigars and even I will admit that photo identification is tenuous and fraught with risk and error. That said, certain indicators have near certainty in indicating that a cigar is authentic, but even so, there are so many contextual factors that again, one must be cautious. Only the foolhardy, arrogant, or the willfully ignorant would make such a certain statement. And only an A-hole would take you to task once you've substantiated (with discretion) your source. I'd say invite him here to FOH where he could learn from people who are genuine experts and students of the field...but I don't think I'd like to share my online cigar home with such a person. You never stop learning and our experts will tell you that as for a cigar enforcer we have a couple already. I'm with you Manny you, me and the rest of this bad bunch are lucky to be here.
