LordAnubis Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I flew the Emirates A380. 14 hours from Dubai to Toronto. I used my points to upgrade to business class and sweet mother of Allah was it magical.I arrived in Tornto and went to the LCDH the following day. Caught up with Jeremy at the LCDH for a quick smoke and i carried on with my touristy stuff. Toronto isn't anything too exciting. Just another city. I was going to go to the Niagra falls but couldnt as it's a full day trip and i had my washing to do. But it doesnt matter i got to see the falls on my return to toronto at the very end of my trip anyway so it all worked out in the end.I then caught the train to Montreal for the start of the excessive smoking campaign. What an awesome city! A 5 hour train ride and it's a totally different atmosphere to Toronto, different language and everything! Caught up with a few boys at the LCDH... i had plenty of time, i was there every night All the staff at the LCDH are excellent as well, great place. It occured to me that while the concept of smoking indoors does appeal, i hate the smell of smoke that just embeds into your clothes... it stinks! I did a lot of touristy stuff while in Montreal, and im reasonably certain i got frost bite too. How you folks live in that god forsaken freezing cold hell of a place i have no idea. I'm convinced that all you canadians are robots. NO wonder your national sport jsut breaks out into fights for no reason, the effects of frostbite of the brain. It's the only explanation. I saw a bit of a flurry of snow for the first time in my life in Montreal. It's pretty good, at least it's better than the golf balls sized rain drops we get in Africa.I then retruned to Toronto before my plane to havana. Thursday night the toronto boys put on a herf to send off the folks going to Havana. What an excellent bunch of people they all are! I was amazed at their generosity, their comraderie, their friendship, you can't ask for a better send off. My only regret is i didn't have anything to trade with the people who gifted me sticks. When you Candians come for a group trip to Aus in 2016 (wait... or was it 2015?) come empty handed. You have to anyway, Aussie customs will only let you in with 3 cigars anyway When you come down to Aus mi humidor es su humidor, it'll be my time to return the favour my friends. At the Toronto herf i saw this bloke, he looked just like Rob Ayalla sounded like Rob Ayalla, had a fresh cut hair, looked quite jaunt. I figured he was Robs identical twin that had been detained in gauntanamo for a year or two and starved for information on Habanos shipping routes. I don't know what you've done to him Di, but you've made Rob look almost healthy Was great to see him again and catch up. There was going to be plenty of shenanigans ahead.I land in Havana and after a few stalls at the immigration desk i get the stamp to go through. I then go to the health checkpoint or what not and then it was game over. They told me because i have come from Mali, i can either enter the country and spend the entire ten days in isolation in hospital, or i can fly out again. I had to stay the night at the arrivals hall of the Havana airport. Caught up with Rob and Rob as they flew through and let them know what was going on, and now i'm sitting in the Hard Rock Hotel in Panama. As far as im concerned the Cuban health people are retarded. They didnt take my temperature or anything, just flatly rejected me because i was within the incubation period and there was an IMPORTED case in Mali a week before i left. They have the colelctive IQ's of a box of hammers in that department me thinks. Why don't they reject all the americans that go to Cuba? They've have twice (or maybe three times more) Ebola cases than we have had in Mali. I'm not a second chance kind of guy, so Cuba is now on my list of countries to never ever visit. They can get f@#$ed. It's bullshit. I'm going to smoke non cubans from now on.Here was where i spent my night in Cuba... i couldn't even smoke a cigar while i was there! Wankers. I fly back into Toronto on the 17th then once there will see what i can do with my emirates bookings to change that and fly out to London sooner rather than later. So herf in London soon boys! The end. 3
shlomo Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Who did you meet with while in Montreal? Anybody from here?
LordAnubis Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 My god there were some hot girls working for immigration though... i reckon a few were underage but the others.... fishnets short skirts and all... wasn't the worst airport stay i've ever had 3
LordAnubis Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 Ohh i was just reading as well there's been a few more people die in Mali of Ebola just yesterday. When entering Panama they took my temperature and a doctor checked me out befoe giving me the OK to enter the country. It's not that hard. Will be interesting to see what happens in Canada and London and Aus when i go back. 1
Rye Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Well I hope they don't all become a pain in the ass. You'd think with Cuba being on the frontlines helping that they'd know how to check you for symptoms
Maplepie Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I fly back into Toronto on the 17th then once there will see what i can do with my emirates bookings to change that and fly out to London sooner rather than later. LGC Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 What an absolutely horrible experience! Due to where I live, travel there is difficult. The allure just isn't there for me. I'd rather just go to Florida to go to the beach. I know it's great to buy cheap cigars, custom rolls, cheap cigars, etc... but I like to live comfortably without hassles while on vacation. Hopefully your next trip will be successful.

Ryan Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Really sorry to hear about what you had to go through. I've been getting snippets of news from Havana and I had heard someone didn't make it through the airport. I didn't realize it was you. I can't imagine how psed off I'd be if it was me. Dont write Cuba off entirely though. I hope you get there sometime, it's worth it. 1
OZCUBAN Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Oh Mus what can I say I am so disappointed for you I cannot find the words so sorry keep your chin up we are all thinking about you Cheers Steve
AndrewNR Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Dude.. Loved everything up to the end of this thread.. Heart broken..
leftimatic Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 My god there were some hot girls working for immigration though... i reckon a few were underage but the others.... fishnets short skirts and all... wasn't the worst airport stay i've ever had I remember leaving Cuba two years ago and a couple of the security girls were all done up in fishnets and miniskirts. Brightest red lipstick I have ever seen. Oh it made the wait just that much easier. Was wandering if they were in uniform or not. I guess they were. To bad about all the rest of the crap though. What a load of dung.
Joker Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Mus So sorry to hear about your situation Hang in there mate
