El Presidente Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 it is a 'light" article and I am not sure how accurate! Outside of the Cubans, has anyone here tried any of the others? http://www.insidermonkey.com/blog/the-10-most-expensive-cigars-in-the-world-335025/?singlepage=1
MIKA27 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Yep, I have enjoyed the Padron 80 also, love Padron and the 80 is brilliant. Still have around 4 sticks left.
thecapo Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I own a few of these boxes. Padron anniversary. Opus X Padron reserve They are all very nice but not worth the $$$. 2

brutusthebuckeye Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I wonder how many people have paid $1000-2000 for a single F'n Gurkha... 1
gtejada Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I've had Padron 80, and I probably own everything in Opus X line from Forbidden X to Lost City to Angel Share and I wholeheartedly agree. Not worth the money! 2
oliverdst Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 "...a very exclusive cigar infused with cognac..."
thecapo Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Padron especially. I love them but their prices are through the roof. The family reserves are about 315 for a box of 10. Still have nine.

SofaKing Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Love the Padron 80th natural, the maduro does nothing for me. Fuente aniversario-was lucky to try from a B&M owner on him, nice cigar. At 30 to 35usd sure, 50-70usd its a waste. my uncle in law has the Stradivarous but I have yet to smoke one, maybe this Christmas eve. Opus X BBMF is a ligero nightmare, reminded me of a refined Camacho triple maduro..over powered black pepper nicotine disaster. You couldnt pay me to smoke a Gurkha and the others on tht list I havent tried or seen. 1
gtejada Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 There are so many Sticks not mentioned on that list that are at a fraction of those prices and are so much better than both the 80, X line and Gurkha... I'll take a BBF, a Epicure 2 or a Diplo 2 any time over an X, an 80, and I don't know what I'm getting when I spark up a Gurkha..
KoreanCowboy Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Their pricing is way off on the NC's. Don Arturo Aniv are $25-$35 Opus BBMF can be had for $35 Opus A's on the secondary market go for $40. The Padron 80 is the only correct price! The Padron 80 is a 2.5 hr blissful journey of satisfaction. If you can't enjoy an 80th, you can't enjoy any cigar. The Opus are wonderful too when given some age. Always makes me laugh to see guys on here bashing the Opus or any NC, always saying they are not worth the money yet they'll flow praise all over a fresh Behike or overpriced EL when it's widely known that most CC's need years before they begin to truly shine. 2
finecigar Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Have tried many of the NCs listed.. Not the stupid Gurkha though! I was gifted a box of Stradivarius before and though they surely aren't worth the price (more like $15-20 per, not $30+) I enjoyed the few I've smoked. Simple, nice smoke and flavor but id rather smoke a CC any day compared to these NCs listed that are "most expensive"

I am not dogging the Opus or the 80 or any NCs I love 'em all...I am saying that the 80 and the X line are not worth the money because their are much better NC sticks out there for much less regardless of the prices on that list which we know are way off. Just one man's opinion.
tmac77 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I have tried both Padrons and the Opus X I have had better NC's 1
maxcjs0101 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I have a sampler (Ghost, shaggy foot, assasin etc) of Gurkhas which i bought it at a OK price but i've yet to light them up. Are they really that bad? The wrapper, construction and aroma is pretty decent imho...
canadianbeaver Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Those gold plated pickles must vibrate, write in Spanish and then make you see angels for 1K. Sheesh.
... Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Those gold plated pickles must vibrate, write in Spanish and then make you see angels for 1K. Sheesh. If they vibrated at least, I'm sure they would do well in the niche market of 'presidential cigars' 3
godpheonix Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 have the padron 80's and i have one opusx A. also had the ghurkha but not at that price! not even close! the padron is a cracker though! the A, i still have'nt had it yet. maybe soon. the other that i have'nt had that i want to try is the esplendidos.
polarbear Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 The only reason Ghurka make expensive cigars is so they can get on lists like this I've never met someone ,who could afford to smoke their high end stuff, that would even look at Ghurka I've had the Padron 80, Opus A and BBMF (still got a couple buried in the humi). All wonderful sticks. A little overpriced considering, but great ways to spend 2+ hours 2
