When storing "tubos" should they be stored in or out of the tubo?

This may sound stupid but I would take them out of the tube and put them In the Humidor.

Not stupid at all my friend. Sealing in the environment supplied by another, the actual water content, assumes that the water content for the space and the tobacco enclosed is perfect as supplied. Why would you do that?

Better to adjust the content to your tastes, knowing that you can pull the tube at anytime and get a great tasting cigar, than to leave the conditioning to happenstance.

If those cigars go in too wet, you will get moldy cigars…

I agree not stupid at all, and that was exactly my assumption Piggy...

I'd uncap on arrival. Let the babies settle in the humi and then recap for long-term marinating in their own juices. But like El Grande Cornichon sez, if those tubos were loaded hot and humid and then you stick them in your calm, COOL and collected humidor; you is gonna get you some soggy cigars, with colorful mold all over them.

I always pull them out of the tubes and let them languish in a real wooden cab.

You can always put them back to travel,or slow age...........

I check them for surface mold and wipe it off if present. Then I give them a few weeks to acclimate in humidor. Then I seal them back in tubes.

I untube them all except my 98 Punch Monarcas....I received them in sealed tubes, checked them out when purchased and resealed them back, they have maintained their environment very nicely and figured I would leave them that way

I untube mine or if I have enough room leave them in the tube and toss them in the humidor anyway. The book of Habanos actually states to remove them from the tube and put them back in the tube when taking them in an outing as the tube is designed to protect them from harm for a short period not for storage.

Always check them on arrival for mold, put them back in the tube, caps loose and back in the box.

I usually just pop the top and toss them in the humidor. (after checking for mold)

I always leave them in the tube. This is how they are stored in the box by retailers and suppliers. Bolivar tubos 2 are my favorite tubos. I believe they taste even better than the pc. I have never opened one up with mold. Maybe I have been lucky.

I always remove them from the tubos, I have had mold issues with tubos in the passed and am once bit, twice shy.

Ill share my experience as I have had issues with mold. When I first receive them I open each tube and inspect each cigar for mold. If there is any present I wipe off and put back in tube but leave the cap off. I have not had mold with every cigar but it’s better to be safe than sorry and not open a tube that has a cigar covered. Once they have gotten used to your humi you can put the caps back on or leave them off.

Crack tubes and let them acclimate for a month or two. Put them back as they were.
