cybermadhatter Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Please Cuba: Stop Double banding epi 1's 2's, and short Churchill, wide Churchill, and mag 46, 50, etc. Stop banding cigars in cabs Stop making extra thick cigars Stop discontinuing cigars like RA 898 and SLR Lonsdales, and then make RA superiores and PL Encantos Stop making so many regionals Stop messing with the blends -------- -Anything on Your list?? 1
pbibby Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 The thing about special productions is that they aren't special when there are 890355 per year...... Stop all the special stuff and reinstate some of the regular. 1
garbandz Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Stop making a cigar 1/2 inch shorter than an existing cigar,,,and adding 25% to the cost. Stop selling plugged cigars........ Stop selling PLPC's and SLR DCs only in 50 cabs...... Stop charging stupid prices for tubes......... 1
Habana Mike Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Not add cigars with ring gauges beyond in inch. Wait, probably too late
shlomo Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 How about adding some artificial flavour to some cigars? You know, vanilla, black cherry, sauteed mushrooms. You know the usual stuff so that when people tell me the ERDM CS tastes like a donkey's nipples, lightly brined in seahorse urine witha hint of parsley and a dash of key lime pie, I know they arent just full of ****. Or what pbibby said. Too much special, makes things not so special.
El Presidente Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 For every two super premiums produce one for the masses without the name Quintero/Vegueros/Jose Piedra in front of it 4
dangolf18 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Preaching to the choir my friend (except maybe the too many regionals part...more the better imo).

cybermadhatter Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 IMHO, I think too many regionals stretches and forces Habanos S A too thin. They Do make more $ though. Concentrate on keeping everything consistent in regular production, and not on making 50 regionals per year. I do not want a diplo Spanish re, I want diplomaticos 7's and 4's. And I (personally) do not want a bolivar colossales, but I do want a HU SW to taste like a SW did/does. 1
Yagermeister Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 If I ran Habanos: Stop making any sticks over 55 RG unless it's a limited run. Consolidate duplicate vitolas within the larger Marcas as much as possible. (Do RyJ and Partagas really need 5-6 different PC sized cigars each?) Phase out Cuaba and Vegueros. Use the reduction in product offerings to put the focus on quality. Expand/Reinvigorate LGC, Trinidad, and maybe Diplomaticos by bringing back a few discontinued sticks. Make all regionals and limited editions available in 10ct boxes.
BH2876 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Stop creating new cigars with a ring gauge over 50, and I would love to see more lanceros, stuff in the 6x42,7x42 range.
Ken Gargett Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 If I ran Habanos: Phase out Cuaba i think the words you are looking for are 'stamp out cuaba'. 1
finecigar Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I can agree... Way too many regionals and as recently released list shows most are thick RG. If they are going to release so many regionals I would wish they sold packs 5-10 to sample and make a decision before going into a box that costs so much. Bring back skinny regular production! Wish to see more lonsdales, panatelas, and lanceros. A reliable range of perfecto sizes would be enjoyable. Add more regular production to PL, QdO, Diplo, ERdM, and SP. I know I am only dreaming

cybermadhatter Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 ^ Yes. And lgc (M d'o 1 and 3), and slr (corona, pc, Lonnie) too. Hell, being back JL Patricias and Panatela Superba 1

Lotusguy Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 We've had this discussion so many times... Fact is that A) The people on this forum do not represent the average cigar buyer/smoker by any means and HSA will make what sells or is perceived to sell well - wether we like it or not. 1

And I just love people saying "phase this marca out" (because I don't like it) and "Make more of X, bring back Y and Z" (as I love them). It's like a visit to the kindergarten
tmac77 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I could rant on about this but will simply post: X2 on all of the above. Except the elimination of cuaba.. I am starting to explore this brand and am liking it a fair bit. Especially the divinos. Been smoking some from a 2007 box that are quite good.

Cuaba makes some tasty treats!
earthson Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Dear Habanos SA, Please stop ignoring your consumers' demands. We want glass-top boxes of Cohiba! In a barber pole perfecto! Sincerely, A Loutish American Tourist with no class and a Hawaiian shirt 1
cybermadhatter Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 The thread is meant more to convey your own preferences/wants. It certainly is not going to affect the industry or the minds of Habanos S A, but it could not hurt to be expressive.
Vinnyc Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 I'd i agine if I was running them I'd be looking at profit margins. I'd also be making the cigars with the limited tobacco I had that would yield the most return.
