I'm really enjoying my Monte Grand Edmundo EL 2010. They're finally starting to show some great deep chocolate flavors.

RyJ Dukes 09 (over the Escudos)

Monte Subs 08 (over the GE... maybe because of the 2 year advantage?)

Cuaba Piramides 08 (very good Cuaba enjoyed by even those who hate Cuabas)

Trini Ingenios 07 (Fckn awesome!)

H Upmann Robusto 12 (same as above, but will need age)

Hoyo Petit Piramides 11 (worth the price)

Hoyo Piramides 03 (only LE past 05 that i would get)

I didn't include those Cohibas because if you were offered them for a good price, why wouldn't you? Oh because some are pretty flat nowadays... But bottom line with these is they're pretty good and may even be worth the price. But invest your time searching for others. You'll get much more likely with that search.

Ones to stay away from:

H Upmann Mag 48s 09(inconsistent. some blow me away. most are way too shite for my time)

RA Extra 11(same as above)

Hoyo Regalos 07 (they're good. but for their price, there are better hoyos to be had)

Honestly, if i were you, just actively search out Aged and Regional stock instead. Same prices and most are much better depending on what you want. (Plus ERDM and RA Regionals exist!wink.png)

honestly... too young to say

also the thick ass, 'holy-god-it's-an-elephant-penis' ring gauge is a real turn off.....

hope they never make an LE with thick ring gauges like that again...

well ****..................

Besides comparisons with other EL's I can say that Monte GE's are finally reaching their potential to me.

I've heard many good things about it and never tasted them like that, even sometimes having that metalic horrible flavour.

I had one few weeks ago and they were superb.

Wow, Monte GE is a serious winner here ;) I only have 9 left from the last box damn ;(

I was just about to share my .02 on the Monte GE as well.. I've had half a box already, all on point..

What els have you liked in the past?

To be honest I'd only had d Monty GE lol. I just receive a Monty sub from a good buddy. Heard wonderful thing from that one.

no one's agreeing with me on:

Subs > GEs??

Have yet to have one...

I've never had a Monte GE that burned correctly or tasted like it was going to be better than Sublimes or 520's.

Hoyo Petit Piramides. Was a winner on release, still smokes like a champ.

Duke, ge, 1966 and the definite from this (last) year, the punch D'oro 2. I have high hopes for the Romeo de luxe as well but it's too early to be sure.

Seems like I'm in the minority but I've been enjoying the RA Extra 2011 quite a bit.

My top 3:

1. 1966

2. Monte 520

3. Monte GE

Honorable mention to:

Upman Mag 48 (have been great for me, maybe I've been lucky?)

Hdm Short Hoyo Piramides

Monte Sublimes ( have only sampled once, but based on this would have hit top 3)

Have yet to smoke a MGE I didn't enjoy...

If you have the resources.... The 1966 Cohiba is a fantastic cigar. Have smoked a few that were mind numbingly good...
