madandana Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I'm loving these but I don't hear much about them on here. What's everyone else's opinion?
ramon_cojones Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 smallclub has posted positive praise about them, will have to try
Smallclub Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Exact. I splitted a box with a friend; the cigars were gorgeous, oily wrappers + perfect construction. Funnily they are exactly what their name says: a de Luxe version of the Epicure series. They will benefit from a little age but the first third shows some very refined Hoyo flavors. My next purchase. Seems like I have an affinity with the LCDH releases – Superiores, Royal coronas, now these…
Rye Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I have yet to smoke one, but I have a box in the air now, that I went in based off of friends reviews.
LP9 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Love the hoyo line. I've never had these however, I see purchase in the very near future 1
karmaz00 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 smoked a few in Havana not to long ago, did like them, just didn't have enough room to bring to many back
targa88 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I have yet to smoke one, but I have a box in the air now, that I went in based off of friends reviews. Another box in transit...waiting to try...
nick2021 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Smoked one today! Great cigar, enjoy it a lot. Wish I hadn't sold my second box
CaptainQuintero Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Never heard anyone say they dislike them at all, maybe the superb quality of the epicure #2 the past few years just pushes them down the 'to buy list'
LLC Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Brought some boxes back from Havana a couple of years ago and enjoy them on a Saturday morning in the summer on the deck with an Americano. Maybe because I'd did that most mornings in Habana that year. 1
Lotusguy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I really REALLY like them. Even though the vitola is definitely not one of my favorites. Now on box #4 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Optic101 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Have a box sleeping and want to wait for the 2 year mark.
Lotusguy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Have a box sleeping and want to wait for the 2 year mark. They're good to go already!
shlomo Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Have a box sleeping and want to wait for the 2 year mark. They're good to go already! Agreed. No reason to wait!
Laxman Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 These are great little cigars. Someone tossed one in on a trade as a freebie. Ended up buying a few boxes after I tried it. Smoking great right now.
fingerburner Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Seems like I have an affinity with the LCDH releases – Superiores, Royal coronas, now these… Yet to try the De Luxe but adore the other two as well. I guess there is only one thing left to do then...
Optic101 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 They're good to go already! Agreed. No reason to wait! Good to know. Thanks guys.
dangolf18 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 And why are they so good? Recent production HDM 2 have been so good why should I splurge on the de luxe?
Lotusguy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 And why are they so good? Recent production HDM 2 have been so good why should I splurge on the de luxe? The newest Epi 2 I have tried so far was from 2009 so I can't comment on recent production. Both cigars are typical Hoyos, but I find the Deluxe a bit more tangy and fruity. The price difference isn't that huge and they come in 10er boxes so it's not a huge commitment to add one to an order.
MattW Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I picked up a box in Berlin in January 2013, have had 4 or 5 now, they're fantastic cigars! They were good to go from day 1.

Of the boxes i saw, splitting them would've resulted in one sucker getting a plugged fiver.
Knilas Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Great info here...gonna have to pick up a box or two now. Darnit! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I can see how it could happen; mine were at the limit: a bit more tobacco and the draw would have been problematic. I don't like this petit edmundo size, but it seems to like me: I've always got a perfect "cuban draw" – slightly resistant.

The quai dorsay regional were tough on the draw for me.
