I would like to purchase a nice mix of business books (anything really) to cover the next 3 months. I read about 2 of these a month. If something has pulled your chain, let me (us) know what it is and perhaps a very brief synopsis and why it appealed to you. Cheers Rob
Armaniac Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Hey Pres. This doesn't qualify as a business book but it is definitely inspirational. Eckhart Tolle's book "The Power of Now". It's about living in the present and, seizing and enjoying every moment without dwelling on the future or the past. Certain things that are out of control must be accepted because we can't do anything about them. This book helped me get through a very tough time in my life. 1

It's mind-blowing philosophy/history, with some great story telling around Godel, Einstein, Wittgenstein, et. al. More fun though; I just finished the Aubrey/Maturin "Master and Commander" series. Perfect cigar smoking fiction! 1

So I started the next book Killing Kennedy which I got about a third of the way through and had to give up on it. The last in the series is killing Jesus,the best of he three,I liked it so much i read it quiclkly and wish it was longer,to me it doesn't matter what you think of Oriley most of his books are gripping and written well.

Just finished Jack Reacher The Affair (book #17) and going to start Russell Blake's Night of the Assassin today to see if I like his writing. I guess I just can not be inspired!

Hash Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I found the following enjoyable reading: Against the Gods : The Remarkable Story of Risk. by Peter L.Bernstein.a readable book on risk,and uncertainties. If you like reading History , A Line in the Sand , by James Barr is a good read on how the great powers divided up the Middle East after WWI.

By: Dan Zadra I buy this book 30 at a time to give away to new hires, friends or anyone I care about. It's a fantastic book and worth a read by anyone who wants to move beyond where they are today. Fiction: The Pillars of the Earth Trilogy By: Ken Follett There is so much thought and detail put into these novels. At 800+ pages each they are a serious commitment, but really enjoyable if you like historical fiction. Cheers!
