I have never made it to the US for Thanks Giving and it is on my bucket-list of things to do.

What are your plans for Thanks Giving? Home? Travelling? Food? Special Cigar?

We're going to my wife's brother's house for the first Thanksgiving they've hosted. Already my sister-in-law is freaking out about the whole deal, should be a good time.....

They were going to fry a turkey but when found out it was 30# said not a good idea.

Regardless there will be turkey and most of the trimmings

I'm sure I'll find something worthwhile to smoke and my bro-in-law's always got some good Bourbons on hand if nothing else.

21 people total. 4 generations ages 5 to 83. Lots of food--turkey, my mom's stuffing, homemade mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes mixed with peanut butter and melted marshmellows on top, coleslaw, cranberry sauce, gravy, rolls pumpkin bread, green bean casarole, pumpkin pie and other deserts. Mom comes over at 7:30 am to stuff the turkey with her stuffing never had a Thanksgivng without it in 50 years. The sweeet potatoes come from my wifes family. Great family time, kids play grow ups talk watch football etc. My wife is a nervous wreck as always, but in the end every thing works out. Hopefully I will have time for a good cigar. If not it is ok because I will be with those who I love and hold near and dear. It's all about the memories that you make.

We have two little kids so we go to the sister in law at noon and need to be at my moms at 5:00 pm and then after we get home the wife is going black Friday shopping So if I can get the kids to bed before I fall a sleep there will be a couple of Advil and some stiff drinks and a fine cigar

Work in the ER tulk 7:30. go to my Mons where my family will meet me. Eat. Go home. Food coma. Maybe watch Catching Fire the next day. Happy Turkey Day everyone. Drew, where's your traditional Turkey call post? Love that one!!!!

National Lampoons Christmas for me! 9 hr drive followed by 4 days of predictable in-law antics including 17 family members, 2 turkeys, many brandy old fashioneds (delicious!), some NFL, shopping, practical jokes, and a few sticks by the outdoor fire in 40 degree weather while the kids wrestle around the joint and cause mayhem. Thankful for it all I am!

Every year we cook a scratch meal for about 225-250 people in my kitchen for thanksgiving. It's the craziest and busiest time of year and I love it. I always take off on Friday and collapse and smoke the best cigars that I can.

Stuffing, cranberry sauce, root vegetables and pumpkin pies are all done (50 of them). Tomorrow it's breaking down turkeys, gravy, de-boning hams, apple pies, peeling 2 cases of potatoes and getting all else tight. I'll take some pics tomorrow and Thursday and post them.

Providing a meal and a day like this for people who can't do it for themselves anymore gives me enormous satisfaction and inspiration. I'm really grateful to be able to provide it. Thanks for the post Rob. All the best for everyone on Thanksgiving.

My folks are hosting this year in Los Angeles. I'm local so the commute will be minimal. My family of four (wife and 2 young sons), my sisters family of four, and my brothers family of 3. It will be loud and chaotic, 5 kids under the age of 6, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Football, eating til your sick, and being surrounded by loved ones.......My favorite holiday!

I am giving mucho thanks that my wife is coming to the island this weekend for good (ish). Haven't seen her since august and have been living apart since this time last year.

It's about damn time to get under the same roof again.

My inlaws are coming down. Bringing a Thanksgiving meal to my wife in the hospital, with both of our parents.. If she can't be home, then I'm bringing home to her. Also bringing her a decorated Christmas tree for her room.

Rob, last time i checked North America includes Canada the USA and Mexico . Canadian Thanksgiving is in October and Mexico does not celebrate this holiday.

Usually have Thanksgiving at my parents place. It's usually about 15 of us. However this year we are going to close family friend's house in the suburbs. Should be a good time. Most looking forward to sweet potatoes with roast marshmallows on top and of course turkey. Hopefully will get the chance to enjoy a few good smokes. Hope all my American compadres have a wonderful thanksgiving!

We celebrated our 'ex-pat' thanksgiving last Sunday with Turkey, cheesy potatoes and pretty much all the comforts of an American Thanksgiving sans the beer. I brought an entire suitcase filled with stovetop stuffing mix and half the super market back to Oz last trip to the States. Customs in Oz were impressed and it took a few goes of things to convince them I didn't have a frozen turkey with me (would be much cheaper!)

I'll be spending the real Thanksgiving at a hotel in LA but at least they are putting on a spread! Already tracked down a cigar shop for a smoke later in the day.

I'm thankful for finding FOH best thing that happened all year!

So the plan is a midnight Thanksgiving Herf. Whiskey Rum and Cigars. Can't get any better.

Having our traditional misfits thanksgiving at my house. We like to collect all the friends family and people with no place to go at our house. Put the 27# turkey in beer brine last night and plan on putting it on my BGE for a hot smoke. Find that hotter and realatively quick makes the best smoked turkey. Of course will smoke a cigar while preparing the beast thinking about starting the day with a partagas short. Will start with baileys and coffee, move to cuba libres, and after the main meal plan on smoking one of my large format cigars with my neighbors and having some ron zacapa 23 and george t stagg bourbon. My brother is home from Iraq so plan on doing it up big for him. Grew up in a large family so love to get a big group of people together for feasting and friendship.
