Duxnutz Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 No experience with either. Which would you recommend?
melies Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I think I'm of the the few that prefers the Petit Coronas than the Half coronas, but even thought both are really good, I tend to find the PC's more elegant and structured than the half.
kiwicrusaders Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I love the PCs to, although to be fair haven't had the half corona
liuzzi Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I love Half Coronas, great reasonably priced winter smoke, lots of flavor for the size.
Smallclub Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 In my experience, the PC needs time (to get rid of the vegetal, somehow green notes), while the HC is good ROTT, more direct, and surprisingly satisfying despite its small size… If you prefer a longer cigar, a good alternative to the PC is the Majestic, which is cheaper, more rustic and more intense…
bolivr Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Not tried the PCs but very happy with the HCs as a satisfying smoke when there is not much time to smoke.
SCgarman Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Petit coronas are fantastic and are now my favorite brand of pc. Plus they give you a full hour of smoking time. Get a box and try them.
kuma Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Love the HC's for short duration smoking time (driving to work, etc, etc, etc,) and they taste great right out of the box!
mash Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 The PC's are a great cigar, much preferred to the HC.
Ophidion Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 You honestly can't do wrong with either. Each cigar has its perks and if i had to choose one for the winter I would go HUHC. Any other time I prefer the petite corona.
riazp Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Half Coronas are quite surprising. First time I smoked one I was amazed on how habanos packed so much flavor in a small smoke. i've never had a upmann pc, but I hear great things about them i'll most likely puchase a box in the near future.
investandprosper Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I've had some amazing half coronas, enough so that the cigar deserves a look after each puff. It's a 'fun size' too =)
Orion21 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I have a box of Upmann PC's on thew way from Rob right now. I will let you know when I taste one, but I have heard great things. They fly under the radar compared to other brands. Small club is also onto something. I was given a couple of majestics about a year ago and smoked them last winter. I really enjoy them a lot and they are cheap, like PL Montecarlo cheap.
Lotusguy Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Really like the Half Coronas. Just had my first Upmann PC from a 2013 box and it was too young but had potential.
Duxnutz Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 Neither. I'd go with the Corona Major's. Oh drats, forgot about those!
headstand Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Another fan of the PC over the HC. Don't know why but I kept looking for another cigar to light up with the HC, and that was winter smoking.
Charltonc Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Pc, I don't like the size of the half corona. I prefer monte 5s or perlas for a small cigar.
Rushman Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Really like HUPC but love HUHC. It just blew me away and I went through the first box like wildfire. It was last summer in Mexico and I killed that box in less than two months. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=19.390033,-81.404449
NMJoe Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I've had two boxes of HCs, both of which had great flavor, but most also had a very tight draw, probably would be classified as plugged.
CdnLimitada Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I have tried both recent production and so far PC kills the half.
