Each year a bunch of cigars gets discontinued, let us not get into the debate on why this happens it just does. As a result we all feel that we loose one of our favourite cigars, be it the Trinidad Rob T or the Dip No4, don't even get me started about the Parti Connie No3! tantrum.gif

What if you had to make a decision on two cigars that had to be cut from the Habanos range what would you kill off??? confused.gif

Machine made anything.

Then discontinue discontinuing

I don't like the Vegas Robaina range. Granted ive only tried a few, and i'm not exactly an experienced cigar conniseur, but the "earthy" flavour profile is not my thing.

Had my first one of these 2 days ago!!! WOW what a smoke.... the mind boggles at what/who decided to get rid of these, EPIC FAIL Habanos!! thumbsdwn.gif

As to what i'd delete from the Habanos books now.......hmmmm idea.gif the people who made the decisions to delete all the great cigars that are no more...... oh, and the monte opens!

I do think alot of the marca's are on life support atm and need REAL attention, while others are bursting at the seams with cigars that dont add anything new or different to the brand.

Habanos don't make machine-made anymore.

If I had to pick two, I'd say PSD4 and BRC. I kid I kid. I'd say cut the whole Cuaba line. My least favorite CC brand. I would say the Monte Open since everyone agrees they're awful, but I'm not going to make a judgment b/c I've never tried one.

Cuaba is a strange one for me.. I know most folk hate them but I've had a few really good cigars from the marca... a few salamones stick out.. the thing is more that not they are awful.

I do actually like the idea of the figurado marca, and enjoy the shapes as a change.. I just think if Habanos would just "re-work" the flavour profile of the marca, a complete new blend and what not.. it could make a massive difference. Otherwise i think i agree on cutting the whole line its too hit and miss... usually a miss.

Oh man I LOVE me some VRs. I've been grabbing more VR stock this year especially since they cut the familiar and classicos and those were two of my favs. I'm working through '01 boxes of both that have great flavors that are rich and even chocolate bombs at times. Kinda like a Monte cross a SCdlH for flavors to me anyway.

On a side note, has HSA decided what they will chop this year? I know the rumors were rampant with RASCC, 898s, etc. But I haven't actually seen a 2013 chop list become official. Last year we knew for sure in Jan and I figured if they were gonna chop some they would've said something by the time the festival was over.

Back on topic, I'd cut some of the fatties from the lineup. Anything over a 52 RG would get axed and then I'd drop the JL line...I know gasp, but I really don't like anything JL. Prob my least favorite line from Cuba.

Montecristo: Monte Opens. Big mistake.

Cuaba: The whole line. Not terrible, but very uninspiring.

Romeo YJulieta: A good portion of the RyJ Line. Do justice to the original Churchill, keep the Short and Wide. Keep the Cazzies. Everything else? It could go. Maybe make the Dukes a regular production with the same blend as the LE.

Cohiba: Panatellas & Exquisitos (why bother?) Ditch the whole Maduro line. It was a nice try. If axing Cuaba, produce a really nice Cohiba perfecto. Give the flagship marca a quintessential vitola. Somewhat along the size of the Distinguido with a more dramatic tapered head.

Another vote for the Cuabas. The Salomones were OK, but the others I've tried never did anything for me.

I also wouldn't loose any sleep if the Fonseca's were disco'd.
