PigFish Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I have smoked in some great solitary places. It is liberating Ross. I find it very interesting that you posted that. Smoking a cigar with you is on the list. I too wish I could move back to my thirties!!! That is beyond a bucket list wish! Having smoked with Rob and Lisa within a group which I certainly enjoyed, I too would like to travel to the Land of Oz and smoke with several of the people that I call my friends now. A few days on the deck with my CZ crew and local Ozbourne friends would make me very happy. It would be fun to do a vendor tour. I have bought cigars from almost every corner of the world and I would really like to put some faces to those locations. I would still love to have a cigar with my friend Guy. While I build a damn good active controlled humidor, I have still yet to build the one I call perfect. -
finecigar Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Going to Cuba and smoke a cigar at an extremely high altitude in South America

I've been looking at airline prices to Brisbane for 2 years now. I look forward to that. Hope you can get to Brisbane soon. Will be a big Friday on the deck! Cheers, Mark

DrunkenMonkey Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I want to smoke a cigar and drink mead with Sven. Maybe go fishing or pillaging with him.
Colt45 Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 By yourself? Thats not what I expected. Has to be every cigar smokers dream... I have smoked in some great solitary places. It is liberating Ross. Ray, it surely is. I think we've had a somewhat similar discussion in the past - while smoking a cigar, there have been one or two times where I became completely oblivious to my surroundings and lost all track of time. But it was imperfect. I was never sure if the cigar aided in attaining that state, or if it was just along for the ride. While I've never obsessed about it, perhaps reaching that state of mind while smoking in that "perfect" spot (real or imagined) might be my dragon, something to cross off the list.
tmac77 Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I want to smoke a cigar and drink mead with Sven. Maybe go fishing or pillaging with him. I think that for Sven pillaging and fishing are one and the same thing.
dangolf18 Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 How about smoking a Montecristo on the island of Montecristo or an Edmundo Dantes in Marseille (where Edmond lived). I know it's a few Weeks late, but let's brainstorm some ideas for cigar related "resolutions" you wanna achieve this year. We'll compare results in the coming December. my goals: -Achieve a 5"+ ash (without making a mess) -smoke a cigar in high altitude -smoke a quai d'orsay at quai d'orsay (smoke a Trinidad in Trinidad was accomplished in 2012!!) (and smoke A. Fuente at a fuente was accomplished in 2011!) -successfully light a cigar using matches in outdoors -smoke a cigar as old as me (1984) -make my own Partagas employee badge What are yours? Share!
Murri Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 1. Live long enough to smoke and share all the cigars i've purchased. 2. Never stop buying.
dpodiluk Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 1. Smoke at least one cigar a week, right now it is 3 a year. 2. Smoke with someone other than my wife. 3. Take part in a herf If I can do a couple of these it will be a good 2013.
baragh Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 No real bucket list per se - I've enjoyed some great cigars, and they can be magical, but in and of themselves they probably mean less to me than they might to other members. For me, cigars are surely not a sport, but if I really had to try and articulate it, smoke a cigar outside - warm sun, perfect temps - overlooking the ocean, or rolling hills, or vineyards and / or olive groves, by myself with no distractions. I've come close a few times....... I'll throw my lot in with colt here. A couple of times I've reached that zen-like moment with a cigar alone in the sun, but it's rare and elusive.
SMQQKIN Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 To smoke a Cohiba Behike 52 while drinking a cup of cuban coffee in a cafe in Cuba on a guys trip one glorious warm sunny morning before the borders open.
Lotusguy Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 - Have a cigar with the Czar team on the famous deck (but I will only arrive AFTER the BBQ is already finished ) - Smoke a Cuban Davidoff and a Cuban Dunhill - Visit Cuba - Have dinner with David (Brazos) - he provides the food, I provide the cigars - Save up enough money to buy a copy of the 2nd Min Ron Nee book - Smoke a cigar from my exact birth year (difficult, since there were no date codes back then) - Share my cigars with my sons (once they are old enough, of course)
Troels Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I'll throw my lot in with colt here. A couple of times I've reached that zen-like moment with a cigar alone in the sun, but it's rare and elusive. I've had a few peacefull afternoons on the local cementary - turned out perfect for a quiet hideout
mkz Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Whats on my list? Stock up on my favourite cigars (QdO Coronas, HdM Des Dieux and PLPC) before they get extinct.
winelover Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Ageing my own top notch quality regular release stock beyond 5 years and enjoying once in a while along with a glass of top quality single malt or armagnac is exactly where I want to be.
Blackham Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 How about smoking a Montecristo on the island of Montecristo or an Edmundo Dantes in Marseille (where Edmond lived). Those are some great ideas, in fact I'm up for trying all cigar/location combinations, except for Guantanamara in Guantanamo Bay of course...
