I know it's a few Weeks late, but let's brainstorm some ideas for cigar related "resolutions" you wanna achieve this year. We'll compare results in the coming December.

my goals:

-Achieve a 5"+ ash (without making a mess)

-smoke a cigar in high altitude

-smoke a quai d'orsay at quai d'orsay (smoke a Trinidad in Trinidad was accomplished in 2012!!) (and smoke A. Fuente at a fuente was accomplished in 2011!)

-successfully light a cigar using matches in outdoors

-smoke a cigar as old as me (1984)

-make my own Partagas employee badge

What are yours? Share!

Man so many thing for me! As far as long term goes, probably smoke a cigar as old as me (1988), smoke a cigar that I purchase in Cuba. As far as this year goes, I would like to smoke a piramide, so try a Monte 2, perhaps one of the Cohiba's aswell.

Smoke any cigar with Rob and gang on the Czar Deck, having Ken pick the wine, and I cook us all Texas Prime Steaks.

I've been looking at airline prices to Brisbane for 2 years now.

Reduce my cigar buying spree to at least half of what it was last year... Otherwise by the end of 2015 I'll have enough stock for at least 3 generations!

Didn't start too well. Already 4 boxes in this month...

Sell all the glass top boxes of Cohibas I bought while drunk in Mexico. Superbowl special, 20% off on 6 or more boxes!

I strongly believe BOTLs should help BOTLs to accomplish their goals, you people should help him out

While I'm at it if anyone has a private jet can you send me an invite to smoke onboard so I can cross #2 out on my list, this way I don't need all these physical training in preparation for Macchu Picchu. rotfl.gif

No real bucket list per se - I've enjoyed some great cigars, and they can be magical, but in and of themselves they probably mean less to me than they might to other members. For me, cigars are surely not a sport, but if I really had to try and articulate it, smoke a cigar outside - warm sun, perfect temps - overlooking the ocean, or rolling hills, or vineyards and / or olive groves, by myself with no distractions.

I've come close a few times.......

Quick! DrG, you got a fish!! Hook that sucker!!!

Not to worry. I'm loading the drone (not to be confused with oiling the droid) even as we 'speak'. I'll be sending it North to strew Fauxhibas from Gander to Galiano

-Smoke a cigar in at least 3 different countries

-Smoke a Davidoff CC or Dunhill CC

-Smoke a cigar in a fine restaurant

-Smoke any Reserva or Gran Reserva (I haven't had any)

-Travel to Cuba

If I can accomplish any of these, I'll be happy as a clam.

this sounds like a winner with one addition -

"while watching rg3 lead the skins to a superbowl win"

when rob used to hold the cigar dinners in the early days, he turned up at one with a couple of cigars - the first one, hardly anyone had heard of. an SLR DC. and it was the now famous 2001's. i thought it was a magnificent smoke but i was largely on my pat. at the end of the night, he was even offering them half price - $20 down from $40. i put down all the cash i had and got about 15. i think one or two might still exist but not sure where.

anyway, and there are photos somewhere, what i really remember about the cigar, aside from how good it was, was that i ended up with an ash at least five inches long. it was amazing. never looked like falling.

i've never got close again.

But, I smoked a Divinos at the summit of The Schilthorn, and was as weak as kitten after...proper dizzy.

Has to be every cigar smokers dream...

I would possibly have to divorce to achieve this without distractions..sigh..but it is a heavenly thought.

Smoke a cigar in the house with my wife sitting next to me. (okay this will NEVER happen)

Smoke a cigar my age (1968) more doable.

Good idea Joe. I almost smoked at Q'Do on the Quai D'Orsay in Paris this fall. I had my QDO Panetella but we got sidetracked, were way off from that street so I smoked it somewhere along the Seine. Still a pretty good outcome. :)

Otherwise, not too much "bucket list" items.

I have cigars older than me, so I just need to start enjoying them.

A huge item got checked off last November. And that was a week in Havana with some great friends from home and abroad.

I would like to smoke a Dunhill Cabinetta. They seem to have achieved "legendary" status.

Buy a proper cabinet humidor. I'm tired of managing various desktop humidors, coolidors, tupperware, etc.
