El Presidente Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 We had a rain event in south east queensland ( x cyclone Oswald) over the weekend that devastated the south east as it travelled south into New South Wales. it just happened that Di's son Todd was driving just ahead of the front as he headed into New South Wales to work this week. This is what he had on one side of his car and a little later.
Orion21 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 That is scary, but cool at the same time. Nature is truly amazing.
NMJoe Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Wow! Unbelievable! I have been down with the flu and have not been keeping up with much, so I hope everyone is safe.
Puros Y Vino Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Yet another thing down in Oz trying to kill you. Great photos. So glad we really don't get storms like that here.
shiva13 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 You get some extremes of weather down there. At least its consistent here in Dublin, raining and cold for the last two weeks!
riazp Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Wow great pictures, scary as sh*t but great pictures
Orion21 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Mother Nature is just reminding the Aussies where their roots came from and that this homeland was a very large prison. I guess someone tried to escape . . .
nonameno Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Hello FOHers, Wow! If I had seen that outside my car window, I would have left a large skid mark on my drawers! Thank you for sharing, Curtiss
brazoseagle Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Great pictures. Living in tornado alley myself in the US, it can be real scary stuff.
Drguano Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I am at the other end of the alley and I do not sleep well on the nights that we are under a watch. I have had twisters within a mile of the house. Are both of those water spouts?
Murri Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Amazing stuff, very rare to see anything like that around here.
Habanos2000 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Is it just me or does Australia seem to get more than their fair share of weather related troubles?
orangedog Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Is it just me or does Australia seem to get more than their fair share of weather related troubles? I thought once they started paying for their global warming this stuff would go away. Evidently mother nature isn't happy with the payment amount.
WarriorPrincess Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Yes... well you can imagine my reaction when he sent me the photos!!! The phone call started with "Hi mum all good just travelling down to Port MacQuarie with the guys from work. Don't worry I am In front of the storm and I think it shouldn't catch up with us. How about I send you the photos they are cool. " 18 year old boys...so when i receive the photos, after I picked myself of the floor I texted him "drive fast, very fast and don't stop" His reply "Don't worry Mother" Needless to say i had a few glasses of wine after that...I know any excuse for a wine
Zacapa Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 18 year old boys...so when i receive the photos, after I picked myself of the floor I texted him "drive fast, very fast and don't stop" haha he probably did the opposite and stopped for a few more photos Freaky photos - so surreal seeing these mini tornados in SE Qld and NSW!
Fuzz Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Mother Nature is just reminding the Aussies where their roots came from and that this homeland was a very large prison. I guess someone tried to escape . . . Sorry, my fault! I'll try to make it back for weekend detention! We rarely get those in NSW, so you gotta now something's up when it occurs.
Jason Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 We have plentiful tornadoes around here every spring, great fishing ahead of them but best to get indoors when they get close. Great pics Todd
Drguano Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Wait. How can young Diana have an 18 year old son?
olotti Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Cool photos, but at the same time very humbling the power mother earth can harness and unleash. Im thankful the worst we get where I live is 5 months of cold and snow. Hope those monstrosities didnt get to anyone.
Dara Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Wait. How can young Diana have an 18 year old son? Smooth, very smooth!!
