Ghabanos
We celebrated xmas over 3 days for my son. He opened a few presents and then played with them. We waited for him to want to open more presents and then opened more. This is his first Xmas that he understands about presents. The look of anticipation was priceless. The happiness when he opened his fire truck or police car set. The hours after that playing with him. Just pure fun. The laughter after watching him open a present with clothes and saying another present. Him saying thank you after every present he opens. Just beautiful. I, also, like to spoil my family during the holidays. Having everyone around, eating, drinking, laughing, sharing time, stories, presents and love. I, too, take offense to those who just look to bring down a thread for what it was intended to be, for their personal rants. Sometimes, saying nothing is the best thing to do. Ditto. Love the smile on my sons after each present.
Ghabanos
My wife and I decided not to exchange gifts this year... due to my job situation. I'm perfectly fine with that, and happy to just be blessed with the wife and family that I have. However, I decided that my wife shouldn't get short changed... since her birthday is on the 24th. I got her some earrings and pendant. I also spent half the day cooking a nice meal for her. The gifts are nice, but the holidays are truly about good food and family in my eyes. Great meal and photos

Bunner
A friend of mine and his family decided to skip Christmas themselves and give the equal amount to a donor family that was not going to have a Christmas. That to me is very touching.

riazp
Since I wont be with my son on his birthday (he will be at his mothers...) We deceided to have a birthday celbration for him on the 25th. Dinner with the whole family, turkey, stuffing, veggies galore, stuffed our faces. Gave my son his bday gift, a couple of lego sets that we will be able to build together when he's over, my sister, mom gave him his gifts as well. Had a great time with my family. Made me realise how rich of a man I am having such a supportive family around me, who truly care about me and love me and my son... Oh and there was my grandfather who lives in england (all my fathers family is still in england) who was calling us every hour...he was drunk LOL. He can still hold his booze pretty good for a 82 yr old man! Made me and my dad laugh when we heard the phone ring every hour!

ajgagnon
We had a wonderful Christmas with family despite a pretty gruelling 1400 km road trip, holiday flu, etc. My son is two now and this was his first real experience of Christmas. That makes up for a lot. My mom (in France) sent me a shaving set from about the turn of the last century (just as a collector's thing/as a laugh). It's a frameback... says Radium-France Deposee and the number 86 (or 98). It's pretty chipped but I think I might be able to give it a new edge. Came with a Gibbs DE razor handle and a brown brush in a brown leather case. My wife also gave me a nice collection of cigars that I chose (just received the Party 898, PL Encantos and QDO Superiores +1 (thanks!), and some RG PEs will likely arrive soon. Cheers, all! stogieluver
The wife gave me something unique. I had asked for cash so I could buy some more cc stock. But the gift she gave me was much better, upon reflection. She gave me twelve "dates", each already paid for, one for each month of the year. Fellows, you can make some real points with this idea for Valentines, but I'd suggest leaving out the alligator farm tours for the ladies. Maybe a weekend at a romantic bed and breakfast instead? The dates were: a dinner date at a local romantic Italian restaurant; two movie dates, one in July when the summer blockbusters release and one in November, when the Christmas blockbusters release; tickets to comedian Ron White's show at the Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi, MS; an airboat alligator tour of the local Mobile Bay delta region; tickets for parasailing near our beach house at Gulf Shores, AL; a gift certificate for the local Ruth's Chris Steak House; tickets and a weekend for the Ole Miss vs LSU football game in October; a weekend at the Beau Rivage Casino with $100 to purchase some cc's to smoke while playing cards; another dinner and drinks at Bone Fish Grill; cash for some more cigars and drinks at my favorite local cigar bar; and a boat ride through a local alligator swamp area. Great gifts, but a little bit too much alligator in there - make sure you hold on tight at all times
