This one I am sure will make Ken see red.

I was reading an interesting review of Bruce Springsteen's latest album 'Wrecking Ball'. The review said the album was fine, The Boss was back to his best, you're a fool if you don't buy the album. Everything that Ken would love to read. It then went on to say that the album had reached No 1 on the USA charts, the tenth time that Springsteen had achieved this ranking him 3rd overall as the most No 1 albums tied with another rock god Elvis. Now that is impressive, the interesting part is the two bands/artists who The Boss is behind. In the number 1 spot is The Beatles which I can understand, I believe they were a pretty popular band back in the day.

Does anybody know who the second most successful band/artist is?

Please understand I am taking all of my information from an article in a magazine so it could be totally wrong.

Not quite as depressing as katy perry would be as mentioned above but I think it's jay-z????

I know this.

Its jay-z.

Being a big hip hop fan ive known that from quite some time.

Heres another question...

Who had the fastest selling DEBUT album of all time?

Exactly! I'm also a big hip-hop head and it's very well documented that he's the number 2, because he can't seem to shut up about it

Ten number one albums in a row,

who better than me?

only the Beatles, nobody ahead of me,

I crush Elvis and his 'Blue Suede Shoes',

Made the Rolling Stones seem sweet as kool-aid to,

Jay-Z - Reminder

Mind you, the album that this song was one also made it to number one, putting the total on 11 albums.

Top selling debut album? I think it was Alanis Morrissette's 'Jagged Little Pill' which has sold sold 30+ million...

Have every one of Jay Z's albums sitting in my cd rack but no Springsteen. Might have to change my tastes up a bit.

If Andy is asking this, I am sure Austrailia has to be part of the answer... Ill go with Bee Gees??? Or maybe the Thunder from Down Under??

Boy I really blew this one... Never occurred to me about Alanis Morrissette. But wow Jagged Little Pill was a fast one, especially when her first effort was more on the pop/Spice Girls side.

Speaking of Spice Girls, they were no slouch in their day on the sales side either. But as far as rise to the top in a week, that Susan Boyle was someone's meal ticket for sure!

I have seen "the boss" twice in concert and he was amazing. So was David Bowie.

Not too far from Springsteen's total is Rush.

# Gold : 24 / # Platinum :14 / # Multi-Platinum: 3 / Total: 41

And they did it with minimal local airplay and zero support from the music media. All word of mouth and fan support.

Exactly. This is the most impressive feat of the bunch.

My first concert was the 'Permanent Waves' Tour Spring of 1980. The very next week I went down to my local music store and bought my first drum kit.
