mkirk76 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 If you could only drink one type of alcoholic beverage from here on out, what would it be: Beer, wine or spirit? While I do enjoy a nice glass of wine with some meals, and I've recently opened my world to single malts, right now I'd have to go with beer. Who knows though, as my whisky collection grows maybe in a year I'll have changed my mind.
Sutton Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I am a seasonal guy when it comes to beer, I usually like it in the summer only. So I would have to say spirit . And I would probably go with rum,now light or dark that is the 6 million dollar question.
laficion Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 For me it would have to be wine. I can not eat a meal without my wine. I would however try to sumggle in some Rum on the side.
benjaminbbush Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 BEER! While I have a growing affinity for wine and I am learing about single malts (and some blended), my very DNA requires beer. You can take the boy out of south georgia, but you can never take the south georgia out of the boy. From PBR to Sweetwater to Guiness to Hoegarten to.....I could go on forever....beer is a necessity of life.
CanuckSARTech Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Only one type of drink for the rest of my life!?!?!!?! I guess I'd go for HC Anejo 7 Anos & coke then.
riazp Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 One type eh...Beer for me due to the variety that we have access too, especially with all the great microbrews in quebec. Best option for cigar pairing, meal paring, and even cheese pairings. Beer it is for sure.
brazoseagle Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 This is the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my entire life! I will go with Beer. I have exhausted all of my emotions and energy just making this decision, I am in no condition to explain why. Don't ever force me to make a decision like this again, ever. ...I said good day sir.
Puros Y Vino Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I'd go with wine. I like all kinds of beer but they don't like me. The older I get the more bloated they make me. Like Guy, I cannot eat dinner without some sort of wine.
thechenman Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 While I enjooy all three, my choice narrowed down to one would have to be wine by a landslide.
Duane Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 i would have to say spirits, not only can you enjoy them straight, on a hot day you can turn them into a cocktail with all sorts of flavours. Cant forget all the different types of spirits, with what they are made with such unique flavour profiles.
Staffaz Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I'm with Duane on this one. Couldn't think of anything better.
Schumi5 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Being Italian this one is easy.....wine! Really glad this is just a hypothetical question of course.
maverickdrinker Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 If I were to pick one, Dominus would be my drink of choice for the rest of my life.
mbrody Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 I'd go with beer. And if I had to pick one, Sam Adams 2011 Utopia is mind blowing...but it is more like a cognac, so maybe I have to chane to spirits!
Tan1801 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 I would go with spirits. They are definitely my most consumed alcoholic substance.
Wil Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 As much as I love beer and spirits, it would have to be wine.
Murri Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Not a nice question. I like variety. Beer is mainly a warm weather drink for me. Wine definitely with meals. Single malts or rum anytime. Just one - Scotch, but I will miss the others.
Loki Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I would have to go with spirits. Straight up or mixed.
NMJoe Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I truly love them all, each for unique reasons. However, in the hypothetical, I would have to say spirits. Now, I will have to cry foul if asked to narrow that down to one.
