asmith Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 The boys review the Cohiba 1966 LE, are they any good or are they like the Partigas Serie D No5? Please note that when the good cigars come out I am left back in the office. Then Rob turns up and asks me to edit this rubbish. There are 12 sections to this video review only 4 of them have audio and the final 2 bearly have any light. Good one you two great review!
almudawi Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I had one a week ago, didn't like them to be honest and rated them at 82-83 (could be a dud) now with this review I might rethink my stance on them
Hash Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 How does it compare with the BHK 56,and if you have to choose which one will you take.
Ghabanos Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 the other question many will ask is if there is good VFM (value for money) here.... in the end, u can only answer that for your self.... so looks like i'll have to save some dough to try some of these...
nick17 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 grate review guys now i need to set up a box split
IcedCanuck Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Awesome review guys! Can't wait to get my hands on a box!
Styler Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Some quality reviewing going on there guys It's too much to spend on a box for a cigar I've never tried but I'd be interested in one or two if there was a split going. Maybe not enough UK guys here to make that happen though.
jsd Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Smithy calling the video "rubbish" has me cracking up. Too bad you get left behind when the good cigars come out. It didn't look like there would've been room for you on that patio anyways. Great review though! Can't wait to try one of these.
riazp Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Great review...my only gripe with the review was the music in the background...turn it down for the love of god! I feel for smithy who had to edit and work around that. Good Job Smithers
Schumi5 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Great review Gents, much appreciated! Although something tells me the real masterpiece here was the editing work Smithy had to do.
Dbone Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I've got so many cigars on hand now if I did get a box of these they would have to sit for a while. Rob, in your opinion how will these age in say 3 to 5 years?
pedromendes Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Must admit, I wasn't interested in these when an early review mentioned "If you love Cohiba, you must get these". I don't love Cohiba. They have always failed to 'wow' me. Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic cigars, you can tell they are top quality. But they never surprise me and rarely make up for their cost. However, based on all the recent moments of bliss people are having with this thing, it seems to transcend the Cohiba brand and reach a new plateau. In other words, yeah, it's on my wish list now!
FrankBlack87 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 great review guys, hilarious as usual. Without a doubt these are probably amazing cigars, but soo expensive. Looks like i should get a couple singles.
compitaveggie Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Great review!!! I love these cigars!!! Even though the RA Extra are great cigars and any year could be considered the best EL, When I smoked the Cohiba 1966, it just blew the RA Extra away. Both great cigars, the 1966 just better by a mile.
mazolaman Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Btw...Love the t-shirt Ken...LMAO! He's just keeping his hand in.... Barons da Rothshield????
CaptainQuintero Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Some quality reviewing going on there guys It's too much to spend on a box for a cigar I've never tried but I'd be interested in one or two if there was a split going. Maybe not enough UK guys here to make that happen though. My thinking also, £40 a stick is just not in my budget. You can get a box of BHK and five esplendidos/Sir Wins/Lusis for the price of ten of these things. Or pretty much a 25 box of Sir Wins/Lusis etc
winelover Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Agree with Capt Quintero that there is far better value found elsewhere. I think it is a bit like buying fine wine. Would you rather have 3 bottles of Bolly or one bottle of Krug? I could go on.
MoneyPit Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Smithy, great editing job. It did seem like you weren't exactly given the "gold" footage that you usually receive...
NJP Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Had one and it took me to the " zone" . Big $$$s but these are the cigars for the big occasion. Spoil yourself, I have paid alot more for an hour and a bit of so called heaven but the 66 took me to the gates and St Peter said go and don't come back unless you have a box.
cellinisart Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 These are pumped up and they are not very consistent in my experiences of 4 singles. IMHO they don't even touch a coro when on. Only aged 2 years, a $45 cigar? Regular cohiba line is aged 3. Though I have found most merchants love them
