Enjoyed my time in the warehouse today. Early start but devoid of the normal hangover so I astonished myslef at how productive life can be

:rotfl:

THE GOOD

Seriously plenty.

RASS

RAG

SLR Pacifico

Jual Lopez 4

898 Varnished

Bolivar Petit Corona

mag 50 & 46

Upmann 2

Upman Pc

Brilliant Esplendidos/Lanceros

Great D4's

spectacular SLR Regio (stock up now).

Monte A's

2's

Petit Edmundo's

especial 2s

Juan Lopez PC and JLS1

Sancho Panza Belis

Principes

Puntas

plenty more. A great hand picked haul and I picked 10 boxes of QD Imperiales that are the creme de la creme.

THE UGLY

General Cohiba is crap. After last shipments superb Cohiba Robusto, this month we are back to crap (you won't see them so relax). Same for the Siglo VI, Siglo II, Siglo IV. It really is an embarrassment what they are doing to Cohiba and I have had a gut full. Maique, make a stand and sort out what the hell is happening. While you are at it, take on the Partagas mafia but at least they have improved their production consistency. For the love of God fix the garbage that is passing for Cohiba Robusto/Siglo VI/ 1+2+3+4/

it was a good day hunting :cigar:

Odd isn't it.

I've always thought they have Cohiba as their "flagship"brand.

Never been keen on them myself.

Good to hear the proper cigars are in good form though.

Have had 3 really Bad Siglo VI in the last few months, I mean absolute :cowpoop: , Like smoking an amonia stick. Wont smoke another from this 10 Box 2010 until Spring time, if they still stink, into the garbage they go... ITs almost as If they are hell bent on replacing R & J as most disapointing Marca this decade.

Picked up any RASCC's Rob?

Posted

Hmm. Monte A's you say? Any 5 count coffin boxes?

What he said. Or even Monte 2's :-)

One of many reasons I choose the Czar to be my supplier!

Keep up the good work keeping the trash away from us Rob!

Excellent point. I have not had any 2011 Cohibas yet, but many have said they are so-so at best.

Rollers are one thing, but maybe the tweeked the blends and they are off. You just never know with Havana from year to year. It's like you have to learn about Cuban cigars over and over again. But it is great to know what's "on" and what is not. Thanks Rob!

Whoa buddy, your gonna have to be MUUUUUUUCH more patient with the Siglo VI, like 5 years patient. Put them away until 2015 and forget about the rest of them.

Thats a nice size list Rob, glad to see they mostly have it together.

thanks for the post Rob. Would you be able to share any of the cohiba box codes to avoid?

I think for Rob that would constitute actual 'work' but a nice idea nonetheless Art

So... I have a box of Siglo VI enroute from the Czar as I write. Does this mean I should basically be prepared to go to the hassle of sending it back?

Man... where was this thread when I placed my order on 31 October. Boo.

I just received a box also. I wouldn't say you have to send hem back. Mine look and smell great. Personally, I'm not gonna even try one until sometime next year. I'd say hold on to them, let hem sit a bit, and Be surprised Later. Lastly, I don't believe Rob would keep crap in his stock. So, trust that even if they may not be smoking good now, they eventually will! Enjoy!

I believe Rob was basically talking about new stock which came into the warehouse recently. Don't worry, the siglo6's on the way to you are the good stuff, Rob would not send out crap to us! I have full faith and confidence in our Presidente.

Rob hand picks all the cigars he sells to us, so for sure its not crap...the bigger the cigar, the more down time they need.

Fair enough - I didn't really think Rob would let sub-par smokes be sent out, but it was a bit concerning to read his comments about the Siglos. I've also got other smokes coming from the Czar (P2s, Bolivar BFs, and Upmann #2s) so I know I'll be getting good sticks. :)

Cheers,

I would personally advise that if you are purchasing cigars to smoke now, the siglo VI shouldnt be on your list to begin with. It needs time, lots of it. You may or may not find it enjoyable right off the table however you can almost bet the farm that they will develop very nicely. PLPC's are another cigar that may or may not be great right off the bat but let me tell you the 07's are beginning to smoke mighty fine.
