tempbond
I'm going to Cuba in two weeks (Cayo Santa Maria) and I wanted to know what you guys think of this shopping list, mind you I won't be buying all that (perhaps if I win the lottery before I go...), but it's just a guide to help me pick some nice sticks at the LCDH. I know it's a long list ... but can you tell me what would be your top 5 picks ? Thank you ! CigarAsh
my approach: buy the expensive stuff while in Cuba, at cost. Isn't the expensive stuff cheaper here than in Cuba where they add there own taxes/duties to it?
tmac77
Just my 2 cents but here goes: Cohiba Behike 52 Cohiba Esplendido Punch Double Corona I have added the SLR DC which was not on your list better than either the punch or the HDM. instead of the Quai d'Orsay Imperiales I would try to find a nice 2006 box of Quai d'Orsay Gran Coronas Pick up some of the new release LE's if you can Monte 2 Gran Reservas, or Cohiba 1966

mazolaman
my approach: buy the expensive stuff while in Cuba, at cost. Me too. Also, this may be a bit cheesey, but we took along some couloured pens and pencils, and little things like that, and gave them to a local school, who really appreciated it.I don't think they find it easy to get things like that. Ghabanos
Bhk52 Trinidad robusto t Quai - also thinking to try a locate some rarer quais. If not imperils will do. Not on hour list but how about cohiba LE from 2011 and party lusi ?
77stoneblues
I've never been (yet...) but I've had several friends grab me specific boxes when they go (Cohiba Robustos, Lanceros,Maduro 5's) . Definitely get the Cohibas and other expensive boxes there. Each person gets 50 cigars duty/tax free, so it's by far the cheapest way to get the Cohiba, Trinidad, and LE stuff the cheapest. riazp
I would buy the following : Punch Punch (because you cant get any cuban punch in canada) Siglo 3 or 4 (not on the list, but the siglo six is too big for my taste) Partagas 898-v Partagas lusitanias ( if you find a 08 box jump on it) and of course BHK...whichever you can find! also tempbond, be on the looking out for well aged boxes or discontinued cigars...you might be able to find some treasures like maybe a aged box of HdM Des Dieux, or a box of discontiuned Punch RS11... Also maybe think about a jar of partagas P1...beautiful jar, beautiful cigar
Lotusguy
Jars, jars, and more jars (except the Noellas which I did not care for much so far - maybe they get better with age).

tdlfoto
But, he will have to pay taxes on the boxes he's bringing from Cuba, so its not end in the price he'll pay in Cuba. you can bring back 50 cigars per person when outside the country for 48hrs+. if he's traveling with wife/friend/partner that person can also bring in the same amount. not to mention that you could take your chances and bring back even more.
