El Presidente Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Cattle Dogs? Those cigars that fly under the radar but almost always perform. Those cigars that never make a 93 on CA, seldom get reviewed if at all, those cigars that have a consistent flavour pattern that somehow you just reach for without even thinking about it. I am with one right now. Morning cup of black tea on the deck and enjoying the company of a Bolivar Corona Junior.he has been a faithful companion for some time now. medium/.medium full, a little white pepper through the nose, earthy toasted tobacco on the palate. Consistent, satisfying and a cigar which "turns up" time and time again.

mbrody Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Funny, smoking a Boli CJ at the moment and it too was the first thing that came to mind...flavor/strength sit right between the PC and CE. Great little smoke.
mkz Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Unfortunately Habanos has a habit of shooting their "cattle dogs"... Diplomaticos 4 RIP!!
JMH Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 I've probably smoked more bolivar cjs than any other cigar, love them.
skindiver Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 The bolivar CJ always makes me remember my very early days of smoking Cuban cigars and travelling to Cuba to obtain them. I'm thinking the year was probably 1998 or 1999, when a friend told me to try to get some CJ's. Well I bought 5 or 6 boxes at $55.00 USD. Little did I know that they would all be confiscated by Bahamian customs officials. They only allow two boxes past their clearing house! The rest they sell to local casinos and hotels. Yes, you can get real Cubans in the Bahamas in this fashion.

Nothing like a good cup of cafe Serrano and a Bolivar CJ in the morning!

Omskakas Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 I'm currently loving Diplo4s and Bolivar Bonitas. Both executed unfairly.

MontrealRon Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 All the small Bolivars are great, young or aged. I've particularly enjoyed the Bonitas and the Regentes. The Tubo #2 is really amazing!
