Popular Post Glass Half Full Posted yesterday at 02:54 AM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 02:54 AM An unusual weekend (unusually fun and delicious). Flavors all over the place, intentionally for the cigars... The first three were Friday, starting with the obvious, followed by a remarkable contrast later, then later still with the unbanded, a Partagás Lonsdale (1999), which held up remarkably well, finishing almost too powerfully at the tail end. (It must have been a beast when it was young, as that early era leaf still makes itself known, in a wonderfully wild way.) Saturday went a little deeper, starting with a 2002 Vegueros, of all things. (A bit much on the lemongrass and citrus for me eventually, but fascinating in its own odd way.) Then moving back to the 1970s for the RyJ, then to the late '80s for the Julieta No. 2. (Both of those vintage cigars were surprising, the Coronitas being remarkably full bodied with unexpected transitions. The Davidoff,as expected, started oh-so-softly, but by the end of the 1st/3rd and thereafter kept building in soft strength in a beautiful way, almost elegant in its development, with more transitions than I could count.) Had a long drive back to South Cackalacky Sunday. To pass the time (originally), I lit the Fuente (a 2021 Unnamed Reserve). It was a bit "apples and oranges" but it was good -- and stayed lit! :) 20 2

Popular Post Chucko8 Posted 20 hours ago Popular Post Posted 20 hours ago Punch Short de Punch Rat May 21. Started off roasted almonds, tangy sour cream and all spice. Transitioned into creamy peanut satay with some molasses sweetness. 20

Popular Post MadridPuros Posted 17 hours ago Popular Post Posted 17 hours ago Heard good things about this new release and while I’ll say it started off slow, someone mentioned raspberry notes on the palate and I picked it up after the first inch. Very, very interesting note I don’t get often. Father and Son vitola. Beautiful musty cedar and coffee. 13

Take the original, then make it a shade grown and lower priming on the tobacco plant. Biggest difference for me is spice and strength. Original is definitely fuller and spicier; definitely not a morning smoke. I smoked this 20th after breakfast and paired w/ my second coffee for the day and no problems at all. Just medium strength and a lot of graham cracker notes 😀. 2
