TOR DIC 16 Edmundo Dantes Belicoso. Semi celebratory cigar as I have been selected to do an internship with my city’s IT Department this fall. I also received a phone call today asking me to interview on Friday for an internship in the spring with an organization in the US Army. I love it when a plan comes together.

Congrats James, I know you have been studying hard for the last few years.
Btw, how are those ED beli coming along? I brought one on my vacation and will be sampling soon.

The guy I was watching the game with last night is one of those too.  Born in Brooklyn, raised on Long Island.  He is so devoted he bought a minority share of the team.  I asked him if he makes a lot of money with that.  He said “Quite the opposite.  It is like owning really expensive season tickets.”

This was just average. Loads of smoke with creaminess.. It's kinda hit & miss for this box.. The one before was great.. Well, it's Cuban I guess... You have a good one, bro.

Diplomáticos No.2 EML Ago 2014

This is my third from this box and as its now right on 5 years rested I got some nice flavours out of this cigar and a little complexity between the two halves. I think smoking this on a sunny winter's afternoon really helped as it was both smooth and there was plenty of smoke output per draw.

The first half gave me some wondrous sourdough and light coffee, perhaps the best sourdough flavour I've ever got out of a Diplomaticos cigar, excepting the 2014 Bushido of course. Toward the beginning of the second third I reflected on the lack of capsicum (or bell pepper) and spice, but by the middle of the cigar the capsicum flavour took over and towards the end of the second third I got a nice strong hit of paprika spice.

There was no issue nubbing this and the aftertaste on my palate resonated for quite a few hours thereafter!

Tried some Belgian beers with this Juan Lopez Seleccion No 1 to try to bring out the orange-esque flavours of the cigar.

A Hoegaarden was too watery, but the De Koninck Tripel D’Anvers was a great match.
