I did a video on the best ramen in Tokyo. 8 options. While there are some gourmet / Michelin options that are out of this world... for the most part... I'll take a bowl of Ichiran at 4 a.m. stuck in a single person booth any-day.

Japan does a billion things amazingly well....but "synthetic solitude" is something I really love about Japan. You can be on an incredibly busy strip, duck into a little bar or restaurant and have yourself a little booth of peace and serenity. Then back into the melee.
