Fatcigar Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 1st Cabinet of Cohiba Lanceros is from Year 2000. Upper layer has 17 sticks, middle layer has 17 sticks and bottom layer has 16 sticks. Making a total of 50 sticks. When opened, there is an unmistakenly fantastic aromas of premium Cohiba flavors. 2nd box of Cohiba Lanceros is from June, 2006. Inside contains 25 sicks. Packaging has a beautiful presentation of the second Cohiba label design (1969-1989).
thechenman Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Nice pics. Packaging has changed since 2000.
shrink Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 I swear that I can smell those 2000 Lanceros from here in California. Thanks for this interesting post, Hamilton.

Fatcigar Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 Why???Cuz the cello??? I dont think there fakes!!!!! How about these ?????
GTS21 Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 All fakes! Don't real Cohibas have gold lettering on the band??
samb Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 All fakes! Don't real Cohibas have gold lettering on the band?? Yes, this seems to be another sign, but again, Im no expert.
BobbyRitz Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Yes, this seems to be another sign, but again, Im no expert. Welcome to the world of aged cigars. Rest assured that all pictures in this thread are of authentic lanceros.
Colt45 Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Yes, this seems to be another sign, but again, Im no expert. Yeah Sam, I think the guys are just having you on a bit - in the good natured FOH way. If you look into it or ask, you'll find that in the '80s, lanceros were cello wrapped, and that the bands are period correct. If you haven't already, check out Trevor's great site: Link We have a number of serious collectors here - Fatcigar and GTS are a couple who have been kind enough to share some of their great finds with us. If you're interested in seeing some great vintage eye candy, check out GTS21's posts in the photo gallery.

Because I'll be the first to admit that I am definitely no expert, lol . And yeah, I discovered Trevor's site a while back, Ive used it a time or two for different things...
n2advnture Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 It is my understand that all lanceros prior to 82(?) were cello'd. Can anyone confirm this?
mbrody Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Can we change the title of this thread from "unusual lanceros" to "totally freakin' awesome lanceros" ???

I agree with Sam...no doubt about it. These are the most fakearonie cigars I've ever seen. This is crazy. Cello is only used for storing leftover brocolli bake...sheeezes
nick17 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 all the Lancers in this thread are real the cohiba band did not hve gold on it until 2003 but it is a relatively new thing to have gold on the band and cohiba used to celo wrap their cigars
Puros Y Vino Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Gorgeous looking cigars. New Lanceros are great to begin with. Aged ones must be simply sublime.
