El Presidente Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 The swine has Flu and so will be missing from ths weeks video reviews. Get well soon mate. We are all deeply concerned
Colt45 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Ken mi amigo, I truly hope you're feeling better and are up and around soon. Perhaps this little "thought for the day" will bring you just a bit of cheer: "no matter how much you push the envelope, it'll always be stationery". Sincerely, C45
Ken Gargett Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 The swine has Flu and so will be missing from ths weeks video reviews. Get well soon mate. We are all deeply concerned you unsympathetic bastards. wouldn't interrupt a poker game to take a call (on a public holiday when you made all the other staff come in to work!!). now i know what it feels like to be smithy.
Ginseng Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Yikes. Get well soon, Ken. I find that a fresh RyJ Cazadores really makes the sinuses feel alive when I'm feeling under the weather. Wilkey
Tampa1257 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Ken must be on the cranky side, but from having intimate knowledge with a pig and contacting the Swine Flu would make a modest man humble. Ken step away from the piggies. Drink plenty of Fluids, non-alcoholic beverages that is and smoke numerous Minutos.
asmith Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 you unsympathetic bastards. wouldn't interrupt a poker game to take a call (on a public holiday when you made all the other staff come in to work!!). now i know what it feels like to be smithy. I almost choked on my red wine when you said that Ken. Get well soon mate I hate to kick a man while he is down.
Ken Gargett Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I almost choked on my red wine when you said that Ken. Get well soon mate I hate to kick a man while he is down. very kind of you smithy. your sincere thoughts, and those of everyone else, might just be enough to keep the cold hand of the grim reaper from the door for a brief few more precious moments. it is greatly appreciated. and smithy, as long kicking a man when he is down is all you do...
El Presidente Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 very kind of you smithy. your sincere thoughts, and those of everyone else, might just be enough to keep the cold hand of the grim reaper from the door for a brief few more precious moments. it is greatly appreciated. You share an uncanny resemblance to Zacharia Smith from Lost in Space. Why say anything concisely when you can write a book A cold is the "grim reapers cold hand" A headache is a tumor A chest pain is a heart attack or if it lingers...Cancer. Get well you Hypochondriac
Ken Gargett Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 A cold is the "grim reapers cold hand" A headache is a tumor A chest pain is a heart attack or if it lingers...Cancer. you can see why i'm lucky to be alive.
JMH Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Get well soon ken. Out of curiosity, what is swine flu like? Just a bad cold?
cigargirl85 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I wouldn't worry - I hear it's supposed to be less severe in you older folks due to your enhanced immunity as a result of being exposed to previous 'flu strains. But seriously now, I hope you get well soon! Any kind of 'flu is horrible.
kilroy Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Get well Ken and when you need to think of something uplifting... just remember that if you've been around Rob or Smithy within the last 2 weeks you've probably infected them as well!
anacostiakat Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Get well soon Ken! Just remember that your glorious Redskins will have their first preseason game this thursday! I always feel that a little nip helps to sterilize the blood. Kill the germs and all. Just thought I would offer that. . .
Ken Gargett Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 just remember that if you've been around Rob or Smithy within the last 2 weeks you've probably infected them as well! or caught it from them. if this is swine, the only good thing is that if/should i pull through, rob will have to listen to endless tales of how i fought the pandemic and won. thanks to all for thoughts. actually, another good thing is that i have been playing around with all sorts of hot toddy recipes. marmalade instead of honey works very well. rum for me, not scotch. a little freshly squeezed lemon and orange juice - sounds like a resort - and green tea, not just hot water. stir well, though that is usually good advice in any situation. a little ginger helps, a little nutmeg even more so. paprika, not so much. tho it seemed like a good idea in the fog of death.
Froggy Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Yikes. Get well soon, Ken. I find that a fresh RyJ Cazadores really makes the sinuses feel alive when I'm feeling under the weather.Wilkey Good luck Mr. Gargett. I agree with Wilkey's prescription. It kinda kills the germs in the mornin'
OZCUBAN Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Get well soon mate I have just recovered from viral Pneumonia ,not much fun your presence in the videos will be missed ,should do a live skype cross Cheers Oz

bassman Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Get well soon Ken. My wife had it in June & it is actually milder than many flu strains. Still will make you feel like crap for a while. Rest & plenty of water.
