shortsqueeze Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 We've all seen them, either half wheel in a cab, or 25 in an SLB ... I've seen it in the factory with the use of a wooden mold, but I've also seen the end result either with newspaper or ribbon, for custom rolls as an example. How is this done? If I wanted to take 25 or 50 cigars and bundle them with either newsprint or ribbon into that hexagon shape, how would I do this?
Rogers72 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 if i were trying it at home, I would probably stand the cigars up on thier feet on a flat table in the shape that I wanted them (in this case a hexagon) and then tie them with a ribbon. I would probably mess it up though...
Colt45 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I don't know the "proper" way it's done, but if I were to do it, I'd stand the cigars up on their feet in the desired configuration and wrap them with a ribbon. P.S. Sorry for doubling you up R72 - we were posting at the same time.
BobLobLaw Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Fantastic question, because I could never get my Sig VI's back into the box in the hexagon. 4 rows of 6 with one odd stick that does not fit. . . poor guy was the first to be sacrificed for being an outcast.

Sadly true. Always have trouble getting them back in the box.
stargazer14 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Sadly true. Always have trouble getting them back in the box. why the heck did you take them all out of the box in the first place??
anacostiakat Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 why the heck did you take them all out of the box in the first place?? There was a time when they came that way. . .
BobLobLaw Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 There was a time when they came that way. . . Yep and was never able to get them back in
Shelby07 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I'd try bending a stiff piece of cardboard into a "V" with a flat bottom the appropriate width, laying the ribbon down and laying the cigars on top of them, then tying the ribbon. ...although this isn't a top priority for me.

I made this in about 15 minutes from scraps, to keep loose custom sticks bundled. 9

I have some balsa wood laying around to make one as well. Going to try and replicate this.
LordAnubis Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Just get a square block, cut in half from corner to corner (as if you were cutting a sandwich into triangles) and then just use the blocks sitting on a table. I figure that will work just as well probably. No screws or anything required. Hell, i'd use two SLB on each end, with the lids placed down on whatever angle you desire towards the middle. All you need is the "walls" on an angle. You can make whatever you want. Make it out of a cereal box even. 1
