We've all seen them, either half wheel in a cab, or 25 in an SLB ... I've seen it in the factory with the use of a wooden mold, but I've also seen the end result either with newspaper or ribbon, for custom rolls as an example. How is this done? If I wanted to take 25 or 50 cigars and bundle them with either newsprint or ribbon into that hexagon shape, how would I do this?

if i were trying it at home, I would probably stand the cigars up on thier feet on a flat table in the shape that I wanted them (in this case a hexagon) and then tie them with a ribbon. I would probably mess it up though...

I don't know the "proper" way it's done, but if I were to do it, I'd stand the cigars up on their feet in the desired configuration

and wrap them with a ribbon.

P.S. Sorry for doubling you up R72 - we were posting at the same time.

Fantastic question, because I could never get my Sig VI's back into the box in the hexagon. 4 rows of 6 with one odd stick that does not fit. . . poor guy was the first to be sacrificed for being an outcast. :surprised:

Sadly true. Always have trouble getting them back in the box.

I'd try bending a stiff piece of cardboard into a "V" with a flat bottom the appropriate width, laying the ribbon down and laying the cigars on top of them, then tying the ribbon.

...although this isn't a top priority for me.

An adjustible cigar tying jig. I made this in about 15 minutes from scraps, to keep loose custom sticks bundled.

Nice idea. I've gotta make one of those.

Just get a square block, cut in half from corner to corner (as if you were cutting a sandwich into triangles) and then just use the blocks sitting on a table. I figure that will work just as well probably. No screws or anything required.

Hell, i'd use two SLB on each end, with the lids placed down on whatever angle you desire towards the middle. All you need is the "walls" on an angle. You can make whatever you want. Make it out of a cereal box even.
