asmith Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Here is one of the most anticipated cigars for 2008. Wait till the end and see how many friends Smithy really has!!
sharks Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Great Review guys, liked the music intro.. nice touch Interesting reference to a Thai hooker or a blonde german nurse, geez they must be great cigars Seems all agreed though good cigar which will only get better. Sharks
Tampa1257 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 The rich peet, earth and chocolate/cocoa/mocha in a cigar this size in a medium to medium full body would be an Outstanding cigar! Something to lay down a few boxes for 3-5 years as they are still WAY TOO young to show their true potiental yet, even with the aged use of tobacco in them. Great review mates!
Colt45 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Great job guys Given the girth of these things, I think I'd expect them to be as you found them - medium / medium light in body.
KB24 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Alain - "That's a seriously big stick." I get that quite often.
PigFish Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Nice review guys. I think you should save the remaining cigars for your future review. -Piggy
PartagasIV Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Nice review, and nice use of an Editors song!
Guest rob Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Really good review and well executed. Cheers.
crasmith Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Sweet review guys! Keep up the great work!
semery74 Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 "One of the best Reviews yet!" Smithy, you really took it to a new level, it had great tempo, humor, and a clear conveyance of all characteristics of the cigar. I like the opening, especially the scrolling slideshow. Congrats
asmith Posted March 2, 2009 Author Posted March 2, 2009 Nice review, and nice use of an Editors song! I thought the Editors was appropriate
jamesward Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Anyone now which band/song was done in the intro?
El Presidente Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Well done Smithy I liked the way you guys smoked my best cigars, drunk my wine...wore my Stetson and then Merls wears my Motor bike Helmet. I would have done the same
El Presidente Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Anyone now which band/song was done in the intro? The band is the "Editors" but I can't place the song. Will ask Smithy.
PartagasIV Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Prez and others, song I believe is titled 'Smokers outside the hospital doors'
Ken Gargett Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 can't believe you smoked that one while we were away. what a waste. like sending supermodels to the mardi gras. ayala, take control!! smithy has gone mad with power. will good men do nothing?
shrink Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Well done SmithyI liked the way you guys smoked my best cigars, drunk my wine...wore my Stetson and then Merls wears my Motor bike Helmet. Don't complain about Smithy. At least your wife was safe.
Bartolomeo Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Monte Sublime EL 2008 Dark, Maduro colored wrapper, velvety in touch but could be the ugliest cigar I have ever seen, had spikes like Ostrich skin, tightly packed Initial puff was chocolate, rich cocoa White flaky ash 82 min smoke time Easy draw and even burn, burn rate was slow Flavors included coffee, cocoa, mild-rich chocolate, tannins Stronger in 2/3 Solid Medium smoke There was a flavor of Nestle Quik with some heat which was very nice Smoke was thick and cigar a tad spongy even though I dry boxed for 48 hours Started off mild but not boring, very smooth Coffee with no cream/sugar flavors were present @ end of 1/3 Long tem potential is there but enjoyed very much today Love them now and will love them later 9.3/10 Bart
thechenman Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Thanks for the review. Not only were these my favorite LE from 2008, but they are one of my all time favorites as well.
