SamuraiJack Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 An '06 SLR Regios I had last fall. '07 Bolivar Petite Corona is a close second.
Havanaaddict Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 #1 was a 1492 from the humidor!!! It was to this day the best cigars I ever had the flavors were CRAZY!!! #2 was a 1996 especialidad (Cristoff Wolters had a special production of these cigars made for his store. He had 100 humidors of 50 cigars each. The only way Cubatobacco would agree to this is if they clipped the foot by 10 millimeters. By doing this, for the first time in history, the salamones II, was created.) B-day gift #3 was a Dunhill Don Candido seleccion suprema 502 fallowed close by a Dunhill Don Alfredo Seleccion Suprema No. 53 I have been very luck to have some very giving friends and I will never forget these outstanding cigars!!!
OveK Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 My best cigar, so far, is Bolivar Belicosos 03. But I do remember a Carlscorona Torpedo (Swedish), a x-mas gift 2006 from my wife, that made me start smoking.
Jay Hemingway Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 i have also been very fortunate to have had some pretty rare habanos. my best experience relating to cigars was last august when i took the trip out to ohio to attend da klugs shack herf IV. i had two of my best cigar smoking experiences that weekend and many smaller moments in between the two large ones. NO.1: at one point in the night i had 3 amazing cigars in my hands at the same time. these cigars were a "1492", a "1994" and a "cubatobacco 25th anni" (the holy trio)! i was speechless as i enjoyed a little bit off of each one, back to back. to get such amazing cigars at one time is unbelievable. all three of these cigars were amazing in thier own way. to be able to enjoy them all at the same time was something i will never forget and most likely will never happen again! No.2: on the same night as No.1, a group of about 8 of us went and formed a small circle at the end of a da klugs pier (more like a peninsula). we had such a great time and the weather could not have been better! the breeze from the water and the sounds of nature topped off the setting. we all pulled out great cigars. i had a dunhill mojito i had been saving just for an occasion like this. after a few minutes i was handed two other cigars. here i was, for the second time on the same evening, holding three of the most amazing and coveted habanos around. it was a "dunhill mojito", a "dunhill estupendo" and a "dunhill cabinetta"!! i could not believe that i was so fortunate to have been able to smoke these cigars and compare them to eachother all in real time.lol throughout this whole 3 day weekend, i was able to meet some of the finest BOTL"s around in person. alot of guys i knew from the boards and others i had only met that night. everyone was enjoying the finest habanos. it was a trip that i will never forget. it's moments like these that you are thankful to be alive. the last morning of the trip, when mostly everyone had already left and we where just getting ready to leave ourselves, some of us decided to have one last cigar before heading out. i decide to pull out a davidoff 5,000. i smoked this entire cigar sitting on the pier and even with my palatte a bit worn out from the days before, i could not get over on how great this davi was! it was just as good as any of the cigars i had smoked this weekend. it was one of the many davidoffs i enjoyed this weekend but it was by far the best. it was so clean and complex. extremely well taken care of and stored properly. the best davidoff i have smoked till this day. smoked some excellent cigars that weekend. met some excellent BOTL's. it was by far the best cigar smoking experience with some of the best cigars i have ever had. (throughout the weekend if i remembered, i would put some of the bands from cigars i had smoked in my name tag envelope, here's a little shot of some of the damage from that weekend)

jdbrown Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I think a 1997 Punch DC..down to one left but will wait a few years. Best in the humi are RA 898's and 03 Sig VI
Freefallguy Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 A Don Alejandro Robaina, gifted by him to a friend who most unselfishly passed it along. Absolutely amazing does not do it justice!
jwm8592 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Cool thread, its always a favorite read of mine to know what others select as their best smoke(s). Mine are as follows: - Bolivar Inmensas Mar 01: extraordinary cigar, smooth and bitty at the same time, w/that classic Bolivar taste. - Cohiba Robusto PLM DIC 06: this was from a 3/pk purchased from Rob, man they were dynamite. I tried to purchase a box after smoking one w/those codes, but no luck.
Wiley Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 First thing that came to mind: a particular aged H. Upmann CONNOISSEUR NO.1. Haven't had another one like it, but that one was stunning.
wp2 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 A RASS from 03 that got me started on this thing (gifted by a brother from another board). An RA Eminencia ('05) gifted by Kornazoo, that was out of this world.
Guest rob Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 There have been many over the last decade. But one of the most memorable, for no reason in particular, was an Upmann 03 Sir Winston that I smoked on Christmas day 2008. It was one of the cerebral experiences that hit me just right in every way.
Kangaroo495 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Hm. Stumbled on this old thread when I was looking for something else. Best cigar(s): 3 pack of Monte 2's purchased at Jose Marti Airport. Smoked immediately. Best quality cigar I ever saw/smoked/touched.
tucomapache Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Mine so far was a Trinidad Fundores from 2002. For me this was perfect...
gerem Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 The best cigar I ever smoked : '06 Cohiba SIGLO VI during my first trip to Cuba last year.
Padrino Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Partagas Serie P No.2 - A single from one of the first batches to land in Spain, it was like sipping on a vanilla milk shake. Pure heavenly bliss. As close to "perfect" as i have ever experienced. Sadly, something changed and they just haven't been the same. either that or that near perfect experienced raised my expectations unrealistically.
laficion Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 The best cigar ever smoked is very difficult to pin down after so many cigars in one's life, but If it has to come down to that, then I would like to add that, the place, the time and with who, is also very important. My best of the best ever has to be a 1492 given to me by a good friend in 1995, he gave me two, and that I smoked with my childhood & best friend in NJ, USA for New Years Eve of 2000 and an hour into 2001. It was the most fantastic cigar I've ever had . Another was a H. Upmann No. 2 from 2006, which was truly out of this world. NEVER, have I had the same box, before or after that box, It was Divine. Ciao
Deeks Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Weird as it may be, the best cigar I've ever had was rolled last year! It was a Montecristo Sublimes LE 2008.
kal Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 My most memorable smokes came from a box of Davidoff Mouton Rothschild that I bought in 1988 and smoked in 1993 . Beautiful shiney red brown oily capas and a full creamy chocolaty flavour hard to describe. From current production CCs I find well aged Don Alejandros to be a class of their own.
cigarros Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 The best cigar I ever smoked - VR Padrino (Godfather). Super cigar!

(sorry - can't spoil the video).
Mr. Japan Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 My best cigar is not easy to say. But a cigar that I remember is the so called Padrino from Robaina's farm.
dizedean Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 An early '80s Cohiba Coronas Especiale. It is the cigar that got me started on this journey. It was exquisite and it is the Dragon I have been chasing ever since.
PointSource Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Sentimental decision: My first Partagas Serie D4 ...after that it would be a Bolivar CG from 2005 or a Punch Churchill from 99...
Warren Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Yes last night Rob, Ken, Smithy and myself were all unanamous in our enjoyment of one cigar. As Ken has said, we won't spoil the video but I'm happy to say that I have a box of these. Stay tuned.
sansei Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 2004 Cohiba Sublime I savored in Bora Bora while on my Honeymoon.
