Partagas Band Question

Recommended Posts

A friend on another board just called me asking for help identifying a cigar he rec'd as a gift/bomb from another board member. He said it's a Cuban Partagas torpedo and when I suggested it's a PSP2 he said the band on the cigar wasn't right, and didn't actually have the "Serie P" written on it like it's supposed to.

Is there another pyramid or torpedo from Partagas that features the regular band? My only other thought for him is that it's fake, which of course would be a real bummer.

Thanks!

There are at least two.

The partagas from the seleccion piramides box, released in 2003 and re-released since I believe. Shown here

and the Partagas Piramide Edition Limitada 2000, this has a second undated Edition Limitada band.

Both of these are quite rare and the EL has been widely counterfeited.

It depends where the person he got it from bought it.

The likelyhood that it is from the still widely available Seleccion Piramides box is a best case sernerio. The EL's would have a much darker wrapper as well as a EL Band on it fake or not, the EL band would be there. Since there was no mention of this band, then I would presume the cigar came from the 5ct Seleccion box.

These Partagas Piramides were OK, but nothing like or as good as the PSP2 IMHO.

With a first post, nonetheless :2thumbs:

Nothing like bringing back a 5 year old thread with incorrect information and terminology.

Thumbs up.
