MoeFOH Posted June 29 Posted June 29 This week's film is courtesy of my twisted childhood with this classic craptastic Aussie production, 1982's: Turkey Shoot Briefly featured in a great doco called Not Quite Hollywood which chronicles the rise of the Australian cinema in the 70s, etc. in short, a lot of money was suddenly made available to Aussie "filmmakers" via government grants, and let's just say not a lot of it was spent wisely. In fact, a lot never made it anywhere near the film. Case in point. Anyhow, if you've seen it, jump in and comment below. If not, your challenge is to put yourself through it this week and join in the conversation... assuming you make it out alive. Feel free to PM me suggestions to feature each week
Fuzz AI Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Oddly enough, I just saw 2 films starring Olivia Hussey (Virus) and Steve Railsback (Lifeforce). Another 2 cult classics from the 80s. Haven't seen Turkey Shoot in so long, so my memory of it is vague. I recall there being a lot of fairly famous Aussie actors/actresses (famous to other Australians, that is) in that film. 1
rcarlson Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Glorious! No A/C down under? If I'm shooting "turkeys," I need to know how many travel sized deodorants to bring. Everyone's dripping. 1
riderpride Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Is that a trailer or the whole movie? I'm not sure how much would be left to watch. I'm having flashbacks of Van Damme in Hard Target. 😫 Cheers! 1
JohnS Posted June 30 Posted June 30 I have heard of this film, but not seen it. Look, there must be something to it for a remake to be made and released in Australia in 2014. 1
