Surprise retirement celebrations for me tonight and tomorrow night. 34 years with a company I helped start. Bless their hearts for trying to surprise me. I’m not comfortable being the center of attention but I’ll have to buck up. Golf with my SIL tomorrow morning which I’m looking forward to. Then I’m giving rides to the airport Sunday to my daughter and wife. Tilly and I will be relaxing in the Cigarden Sunday afternoon as retirement officially sets in.   Cheers all!

5:30 am and on a plane to Newcastle (80 mins) and then an hour drive to the Hunter Valley wineries for the weekend.

I didn't book it. Apparently no one in our party realised that this flight calls for a 3am rise. 🙄

Should be a great weekend🍷

On the other hand, you've managed to come to the Hunter Valley on the first day that the weather forecast has predicted no rain in three weeks! (Okay, there was a Wednesday two weeks ago where everyone in my neighbourhood would've have been falling over themselves to get the washing done in the bright sunshine!).

I hope you all have a great time! I'm grateful for some sun this weekend up and down the New South Wales coastline!

It was my 32nd anniversary tonight and our oldest was recently married so we are going out with his wife’s parents for a nice dinner tomorrow night since we haven’t seen them since the wedding. Then on Sunday I may go to see the new horror movie that just came out with my youngest who is home from college for the summer. Not too shabby all in all. Well that all presumes my wife doesn’t smother me in my sleep with a pillow. After all it’s been 32 years of me. I’m sure she’s had enough.

Watching the Champions League final then heading up to my buddy's house to celebrate his daughter's 1st birthday. Tomorrow, I’ll be making a balloon arch for my stepsons 5th grade graduation while I smoke some tri tip and chicken for the work week.

Waiting for the rain to stop so I can pull the cars out of the garage. Moving & adding automobilia to the walls and the cars are too clean to get wet.

My son surprised me with tickets for game 5, Habs v Hurricanes last night. A took a quick 4 hr drive down to Carolina. We knew it was probably not going to end well for the Habs but playoff ice hockey is awesome. Canes fans were pretty cool to us and most likely felt sorry for us with how they played (at least it wasn’t the old Boston Garden or Philly Spectrum - which they would not have been so nice, lol). Oh well, it was a good season.

We had a great time at my retirement dinner on Friday. Nice room at the local steak house in the casino.
