If your wife is not your life partner and best friend, someone you genuinely like and respect and believe is worth listening to, that isn't funny. It's sad. It seems to be human nature to laugh at tragedy, but there can certainly be an edge to that laughter.

With respect, no thank you. Jokes whose punchlines are basically "women bad", or "men bad" or "(insert any group of people) bad" can hit different when you're the punchline. Even when they're not intended to.

If the joke doesn't resonate with you, it's more than fine, of course, to express such. I'd only suggest you be true with your aim when doing so. It's a light-hearted joke about the institute of marriage. In no way does it say men or women or any group are bad.

Same here. We love each other dearly and have that same dynamic in our relationship.

Believe me, if my wife needs me to hear something, that message is delivered however she deems sufficient. 😄
