El Presidente Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 If you could commission Two regular production Robusto from the following marques (that would be true to their DNA). Which Two would you choose? Expanding, keeping in mind the DNA of these cigars, which do you believe would really lend itself to the Robusto format
Mike Mecklenburg Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 First choice is Diplomatico and even though Rafael Gonzalez has the Coronas de Lonsdales, I still picked it for my second choice. 3
Popular Post westg Posted October 20, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 20, 2025 Sancho, ohhhh man. Punch Short de Punch are amazing. Can't find a box in Oz anywhere. Give ma a box of Punch 5 x 50 any day. As for the RG Coronas de Lonsdales, if anyone has any with a few years on them, fire one up. Mine have turned into something special. Photo finish for 3rd Rob. 7
Popular Post LizardGizmo Posted October 20, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 20, 2025 LGC and Punch for me. LGC has a brilliant classic flavor profile across the mostly-discontinued MDO line that has been met with some promise in the new release Turquinos. I’d like to try it in a robusto. Punch Short de Punch are a nice treat sometimes, but I’d love to see a robusto closer to the Punch Punch in profile. 8
Popular Post cnov Posted October 20, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 20, 2025 LGC and Punch for me too. The Turquinos has gone down a treat and it's an under represented marca. Punch because it's Punch, I haven't had a bad one. 6
Popular Post BrightonCorgi Posted October 20, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 20, 2025 Incense and Marshmallow flavor of Fonseca is totally unique and would make a heck of a robusto. 5
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted October 20, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 20, 2025 I'll throw my hat into the Punch ring as well. I'd love the Short De Punch to deliver 15-30 minutes more. After that, I picked San Cristobal, but La Fuerza fits that bill for me. Fonseca is an interesting idea for a "can smoke 'em right away" choice. 6
Duder Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 LFdC & SP for me. Amazed mine is the only vote for LFdC. Have any of you had one of their ER Robustos? Some of the best cigars I’ve smoked. SP is one of my favorite marcas and a Robustos would be a fantastic addition to the sole surviving Belicosos. 3
Ford2112 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 LGC and Rafael was my vote but I did not see the Punch option. 4

I like their ER Robusto for sure. I don't hold any Regional to be in line with what I'd expect from a production of the same marca. There are very few Regional cigars I did not like. 2

Dmex Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Diplo and Punch. Those are my choices hands down. 3
Popular Post riderpride Posted October 20, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 20, 2025 Punch and Sancho for me. I like the idea of a Punch Robusto Robusto - it reminds me of Jet Li's 'The One' as it'll be the ultimate stick by destroying the competition. Or something like that. I turned it off after 15 min or so back in '01. I love the SDP, the 48, and La Isla, so you can't go wrong. Cheers! 6
zacca Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 I went with LGC and Sancho…although Sancho and Punch are a coin flip for me. 2
Popular Post Gubbins Posted October 20, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 20, 2025 Sancho Panza and Punch, primarily the Sancho Panza. If done right, I think that would be magic. 5

smashed Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 I voted LGC and Punch and had Sancho as the number 3. Polls strongly agreed. It just makes sense, as those 3 Marcas has very little offering at the moment, but what they do offer is strongly loved. 3
BG318 Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 The Sancho Panza flavor is such a different experience, and hard to come by, so I would go for one if it was available. Also the Fonseca for the same reason. I don't smoke a lot of robustos, but this might change things. 2
Namisgr11 Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Thinking that the Punch 48 is already close to the dimensions of a robusto, I went instead with La Gloria Cubana and Sancho Panza. They're marcas with unique and enjoyable flavor profiles with nothing close to a robusto in regular production. 2
CaptainQuintero Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Dip and RG would really peak my interest. 2
Ford2112 Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Diplomaticos could use some love. A Parejo or 2. Maybe a skinny. 3
