Popular Post Chibearsv Posted September 3 Popular Post Posted September 3 As an FYI, I drink black coffee. For a weekend morning smoke, the Nudies Lancero, Carlotta, and Ninfa all work great but the N1 is a cut above for me. I'm out of my Honduran home roasted coffee and my supplier isn't available anymore. If anyone here has enjoyed those nearly black, cane sugar roasted coffee beans and has a supplier for them, I'd love to hear about it. 6
Popular Post Redgoldband Posted September 3 Popular Post Posted September 3 This calls to mind my fall ritual: getting up at 4:30 am during random days of the week; making some coffee and grabbing a cigar; then heading outside to watch the darkness turn to light with the dawn of a new day. 10

And I also smoke those three in the morning! N1 is my favorite profile to pair with coffee, but it's just a little too strong for a weekday morning for me. By nearly black, do you mean very darkly roasted beans? I get some cane sugar notes in coffees I've bought, but they're very lightly roasted. 3

Alright well now I have a goal for this autumn. 1

They made a rich tasting coffee that isn't bitter at all. I think cane sugar is added at some point during the roast but it certainly isn't burnt. I'm just trying to find that unicorn again. I used to get a large mason jar full twice a year. I miss it. 3
Cayman17 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I’ve been smoking Nudie Maduro Coronas lately before lunch. I’m not exactly sure which batch - they are a few years old. 3
targa88 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Not a coffee drinker or morning cigar person. That being said, early day or short smoke would be a HUPC (unfortunately gone) - replaced by a HUHC or a PLPC. 4
Popular Post chasy Posted September 4 Popular Post Posted September 4 I don’t smoke in the morning as I have young kiddos. But I will say that my preferred smoking time is early and goes down as the day passes. I’m not really a night time cigar guy and I like being in bed by 9. 5
Popular Post qs210 Posted September 4 Popular Post Posted September 4 HUHC is my go to with a cup of coffee. Perfect quick hit of a smoke. 5
Popular Post BG318 Posted September 5 Popular Post Posted September 5 I love the Nespresso machine! Usually I will make 2 double shot cups to start my day - a long and a short, then another one. If I have a cigar, I love the Trini Reyes or a Monte 4 or 5. I especially like the smaller format in the morning. 6
Popular Post Tstew75 Posted September 5 Popular Post Posted September 5 QDO 50 is just about perfect as a early morning cigar. Right size, not too intense, flavorful. 5
Popular Post GVan Posted September 5 Popular Post Posted September 5 2 cups of black coffee made with 50 grams of fresh ground Lavazza Qualita Rossa and 42 ounces of filtered water in the Moccamaster. Paired with any of the below in my morning rotation: The 2023 Ninfas PLP (ASR Jun-17) RGP (ALO MAR-17) Nub Triple Roast New to the rotation - the Sovereign Suns. Just now hitting 90 days in the Humi. And a little less frequently, only on the perfect morning, because I'm stretching my inventory: SCdlH Principe (LGR Jun-18) Party Short (MSU SEPT-19) BCJ (MSU OCT-19) Any of the above is a perfect 40 minute to an hour smoke in the morning. Just depends on what I feel like when looking into the Humi with a coffee in my hand. 7

I brew 16g:220ml most mornings with a Hario V60 (21g:300ml when I'm really groggy lol) 7 hours ago, GVan said: Paired with any of the below in my morning rotation: The 2023 Ninfas PLP (ASR Jun-17) RGP (ALO MAR-17) Nub Triple Roast New to the rotation - the Sovereign Suns. Popular Post unaslob Posted September 5 Popular Post Posted September 5 The QdO blends were built for coffee. If a afternoon coffee is called for, a Sancho Panza answers quite nicely. 7 1

I went down the pour-over rabbit hole hard for several years. I used to be a 1:17 ratio on my pour-overs. It was amazing what I was spending on beans. Still do it when I want a single cup of decaf in the evening. In the mornings I've gotten lazy and just go with the MoccaMaster -- The wife likes that I make her coffee every morning. The RPG's are outstanding. I was lucky to get several boxes of that code Spanish sourced. Almost every one is a mini-JL2. 3
Connoisseur Kim Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Based on my CC experience, I'd pick either HUHC or Party Shorts for short morning CCs as they're small but intense enough to be ideal 45 min-1hr morning CCs. With long morning CCs, I'd choose CCs between Mareva sized Petit Coronas and Corona Gorda sized Grand Coronas/Genios sized Robusto Extras like Monte No. 4 and Connie A. 4
barrygoodvibes Posted September 8 Posted September 8 PLMC for a shorter smoke. Epi 2 or QD 50 for longer. 4
El Niño Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 Trinity Robusto with coffee this morning and it was a very, very fine pairing! 1
PuroDiario Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Used to be Trini Reyes, now around HUHC, Monte 4, PLPC. 4

Not that I am but thought that was the occasion for them. Personally I go for a Davidoff Nicaragua Primeros with a Piccolo. Came here to say the same thing, a tiny smoke but what flavour! 1

Prices for the Reyes today would have limited my inventory! I second this. Although my Reyes supply is diminishing so sometimes I’ll have to resort to an HUHC or Trinity Robusto. 1
Adisaputra Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago For me, coffee goes well with anything from this list: RG perlas, party short, Montecarlos, Du Depute, and El Principe. 1
ElLoboLoco Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago The Sovereign Suns, coffee and EPL on the weekends have been working for me in the AM. Off the truck they were pretty punchy but have settled down to a be a smooth, medium-bodied smoke. 1
