MoeFOH Posted Wednesday at 12:02 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:02 AM Midweek Shootout Poll - where we randomly pit two Cuban sticks against one another to see which comes out on top. The match-up this week sees the Quai d'Orsay No.54 vs Trinidad Vigia If you've had both - great. If you've had one and not the other or have had neither, give us your answer and discussion based on your experience there and/or the allure/desire/interest in these combatants. Read the scenario, vote in the poll, discuss below if you wish
Lucas Buck Posted Wednesday at 03:30 AM Posted Wednesday at 03:30 AM Never had either which I need to rectify. Big fan of both marcas, especially Trinidad so curious to see which comes out on top. 3
westg Posted Wednesday at 03:34 AM Posted Wednesday at 03:34 AM Trinidad Vigia. A tad more horsepower for me. Both very good. The initial Vigia first 6 months were outstanding. 3
Ford2112 Posted Wednesday at 08:14 AM Posted Wednesday at 08:14 AM I like the Vigia but then again I prefer all Trini over QDO. I had a Tubo Vigia once that I still think about. The aroma at cold was unforgettable. The 54 to me isn't the best of Quai D'orsay. 3
JohnS Posted Wednesday at 11:52 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:52 AM I've had both, but I would opt for other options within both marcas, hence why I didn't vote. 4
zeedubbya Posted Wednesday at 01:08 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:08 PM Close one. About a tie in flavor profile for me. Vigia is stronger, 54 more elegant, and I agree with @westg the first releases were very good. QDO54 edges it for me just a bit for the size. An extra inch is just more desirable, especially considering similar girth….. ….. 👀 ……. 😂, sry couldn’t help myself. 2
my happy place Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM I prefer Trinidad over QdO by a mile. Coronas in both markas are fantastic. As for the wides, which I generally don't prefer, my vote is Vigia. 1
Redgoldband Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM Interested to see what folks say on this. Recently got a box of Vigias that I won’t try to touch until sometime in 2026. Never had any Trinidads but have heard good things across the marca. Had a QdO 54 last month that was ok. Trying not to write the 54 off as my QdO 50s came around with some age. Perhaps the same can be said for the 54s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
mwaller Posted Wednesday at 03:30 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:30 PM I may be in the minority, but I love the QdO 54. To be fair, the last Vigia I had was around 2018, but I found it a bit earthy and grubby. On the other hand, my recent examples of QdO 54 have been exceptionally clean tasting, if a bit mild. The toasty / brioche flavors are delicious, and there are no rough edges. 1
Wookie Posted Wednesday at 05:20 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:20 PM I always love Vigia. I have QdO 50 and 54, and neither have come around for me yet. 2
99call Posted Wednesday at 05:31 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:31 PM I love QDO...but for me the 54 and 50 are the worst of the offering. 54 when not underfilled can be a really nice cigar, but I've found it to be a serial offender with regards to underfilling. The Vigia pairs that greasy donut Trini vibe, with a richer darker coffee note...and is heavenly. For me, its a clear winner over the 54, which is often airy and a bit muddled. 2

bmac Posted Wednesday at 09:23 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:23 PM Lots of mongrel in the Vigia for me. QdO 54 is a completely different animal. I believe I’d rather have the QdO 54 in my humidor. 1

Kusifer Posted Thursday at 11:28 PM Posted Thursday at 11:28 PM I prefer Trinidad as a brand. But I'd prefer the sweetness coming from the 54. 1

loose_axle Posted yesterday at 06:55 AM Posted yesterday at 06:55 AM Have enjoyed the QdO 54 a lot. The Vigia not at all. Probably because I'm looking for the Fundadores in a place it isn't. 2
MrBirdman Posted yesterday at 08:42 PM Posted yesterday at 08:42 PM I really like Vigia - they, Medio Siglo and the two Serie de Hoyo are the only >50rg I enjoy enough to keep in stock. Although I will probably sell my Vigia - the wrappers are darker than what I like for my Trini. 1 1
