Midweek Shootout Poll - where we randomly pit two Cuban sticks against one another to see which comes out on top. :football:

The match-up this week sees the Quai d'Orsay No.54 vs Trinidad Vigia :spotlight:

If you've had both - great. If you've had one and not the other or have had neither, give us your answer and discussion based on your experience there and/or the allure/desire/interest in these combatants. :cigar:

Read the scenario, vote in the poll, discuss below if you wish

Trinidad Vigia. A tad more horsepower for me. Both very good. The initial Vigia first 6 months were outstanding.

I like the Vigia but then again I prefer all Trini over QDO. I had a Tubo Vigia once that I still think about. The aroma at cold was unforgettable. The 54 to me isn't the best of Quai D'orsay.

Close one. About a tie in flavor profile for me. Vigia is stronger, 54 more elegant, and I agree with @westg the first releases were very good. QDO54 edges it for me just a bit for the size. An extra inch is just more desirable, especially considering similar girth….. ….. 👀 …….  😂, sry couldn’t help myself.

Interested to see what folks say on this. Recently got a box of Vigias that I won’t try to touch until sometime in 2026. Never had any Trinidads but have heard good things across the marca. Had a QdO 54 last month that was ok. Trying not to write the 54 off as my QdO 50s came around with some age. Perhaps the same can be said for the 54s.

I may be in the minority, but I love the QdO 54. To be fair, the last Vigia I had was around 2018, but I found it a bit earthy and grubby. On the other hand, my recent examples of QdO 54 have been exceptionally clean tasting, if a bit mild. The toasty / brioche flavors are delicious, and there are no rough edges.

I love QDO...but for me the 54 and 50 are the worst of the offering. 54 when not underfilled can be a really nice cigar, but I've found it to be a serial offender with regards to underfilling.

The Vigia pairs that greasy donut Trini vibe, with a richer darker coffee note...and is heavenly. For me, its a clear winner over the 54, which is often airy and a bit muddled.

I've had both, but I would opt for other options within both marcas, hence why I didn't vote.

I agree. The Corona QdO and the La Trova are my favorite from each marque.

Lots of mongrel in the Vigia for me.54 a completely different animal.I believe I’d rather have the 54 in  my humidor.

Age is Trinidad's friend.

And QdO’s too. 5 years on, the last few 54s I had to kill a box were excellent and a preferred vitola to the stubby Vigia for me.

“That’s like your opinion, man” Smoked hundreds of Vigias and have ARS 17’s in collection. Still mongrel 🤓

I really like Vigia - they, Medio Siglo and the two Serie de Hoyo are the only >50rg I enjoy enough to keep in stock.

Although I will probably sell my Vigia - the wrappers are darker than what I like for my Trini.
