Jmpeters09 Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 So I’m new here and working on learning my tastes, likes dislikes etc. That lead me to thinking for the experts if you were on death row and instead of one last meal, you had one last Cuban cigar. What would you choose? It would also help me a little if you would describe why as in you like darker cigars with cream smoke or something like that. As I hone my tastes I want to look back at this as this will help me decide what to purchase if I find answers that align to my tastes.
Chibearsv Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 There are a lot of existing threads to rabbit hole down here. The deep dive area is a great place to start for taste thoughts and opinions. Sample a lot of cigars to decide which ones work for you. Take your time and browse around. You’ll soon see where everyone leans. You’ll also see that they aren’t all leaning in the same directions. Enjoy the hunt. 1
Glass Half Full Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 Carlos Valdez Gran Corona (9.25 x 47), a skinny beast that both tastes incredible and will last "hours upon hours" if sipped correctly -- plenty of time for the governor to consider clemency 1
Popular Post loose_axle Posted July 25, 2025 Popular Post Posted July 25, 2025 Behike 56. I only had one and it was like smoking the flavours of an oak/moove chocolate milk. Smoothest thing ever. If I was Bill Gates I'd send my servant around the globe in a jet grabbing them all. 5 2
BrightonCorgi Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 Cohiba Gran Reserva - the best. Montecristo A - takes a long time to smoke since it'll be my last one. 4
Sir Diggamus Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 For me it would be one of two cigars, same size, either the Cohiba Coronas Especiales or the Montecristo Especial No. 2 For the CCE, a great one encompasses all the flavors I like in a Cohiba and magnifies them, there are a lot of “beany” flavors in that cigar, coffee bean, vanilla bean, and coco bean with a cream mixed in and that Cohiba spice. I have a memory that sticks in my mind from 2010 of driving down I-4 and the 417 to meet family for Christmas and sipping one of those most of the way. The cigar was a near perfect experience. I would give a lot to have that 2005 box again. They were amazing! For the Monte Especial no 2 it is a similar story. The Monte flavors in this cigar are cousins to something like a Monte 4 or Monte 1, rich mocha notes, a refined creamy spice, and lots of dark cocoa notes. I prefer the flavors of this cigar to any other Monte. They need at least 2 or 3 years to start to get to this point, but it is worth the wait. 3
Cigar-Therapy Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 Assuming this is smoked the last hours and minutes before execution… For me… NC it would be a Cohiba Red Dot 🔴 or Gurkha… CC it would be the glass lid Cohibas that are found on beaches across the Caribbean - that way I would be looking forward to the execution to get the taste out of my mouth. “No! Don’t stay my death sentence! I can still taste it! 1
painfreefishing Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 I am very new to Cubans, so I smoke mostly 2-year-olds or less, 😓but right now considering that I would say RASS or PD2. Both rarely disappoint, even with little age. 3
my happy place Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 This thought experiment took me on a roller-coaster ride. Instinctively, I said "Lusi" out loud, and then my thoughts went to some Behike, then some vintage or rare LE. Then I thought about the first "cigar" I ever had. Phillies Blunt stuffed with weed. Then I thought, going out with a Lusi blended with weed would be fun. Yeah, I'm an idiot but would inhale every mm of it 🤣 1 1
Mr. DD Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 I pick a Cohiba Behike 54 for my final cigar. Some medio tempo. I’ve never seen a BHK in person let alone smoked one, but with all of the hype I’ve heard I’d like to have it once before I take a dirt nap. 😴✌ 3
OrionsCubans Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 BHK 52 The finest cigars I have ever smoked. Silky wrappers, beautiful silky smoke, buttery grassy sweetness. Wonder how the OR has aged… 2 1

HuffnPuffff Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 I do believe those of us in the know understand that if you’re going to go out with a bang, it should be with a Walter PPK; and if you’re going to go out with a puff, then a Lonsdale is the only sensible choice. Personally I’ve always been exceedingly fond of the La Gloria Cubana Medaille D’Or #2’s. I had a cracking box from the 80’s which unfortunately succumbed to a serious case of the all gones. I have half a box from 2002 which are rather fabulous and I dare say I could spare one of those for my last hour on Earth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4
riderpride Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 Man, I thought this was about Suge Knight getting a blend while he's in prison. In this case, I'll go for an aged Sir Winston as per the mandatory West Coast 'W' below. Cheers 3 1
Popular Post gormag38 Posted July 28, 2025 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2025 Would probably be 07 POS Boli Corona Extra from a 50 cab. Those sticks are pretty much damn near perfect in my book. 6
