I'm surprised JL #2 so high up on the list! Guess I need to try another one with some age.

They are a great replacement for the more expensive robustos these days. Depends on the box, sometimes they are good right away. But, I once bought a couple of boxes and they tasted just awful ROTT, took about 2 years for those to calm down.

Never tried the Wide Churchill. I can see why the order is what it is beyond the WC. I've fallen out of favor on the BBF and PC's really aren't my thing. I can see why others are hot for both.

How far down the list were Monte No.3?

Wasn't nominated by members from memory. Each member had 3 submissions and from those 3 submissions the poll was drawn.

Honourable mention (from me) for Punch Punch, H. Upmann Magnum 54.

The Punch Punch have me very curious. I may pick these up in the new year on 24:24. Wondering if you prefer them over other Corona Gordas?

I would take them over a Siglo IV.

That's an endorsement, and noted. Looks like I'll be springing for one shortly. Ouch, my wallet!

Rob, great list. I am wondering if for 2024 you did a poll on your everyday go to cigar and how the two lists would compare? Merry Christmas to all. John

My only change would be to boot the Monte 2 and add the HU 54 Mag, otherwise it's spot on.

I'm definitely feeling PLPC, RASS & Punch Punch this year. I wish I had gotten more Partagas Serie D No.4 (was hearing such good things all year). Hadn't had a single BBF or CoRo in 2024.

Pretty solid list, although it is interesting that 9 of the 10 are either robustos (6) or pyramids (3) and that no larger sizes or non-pyramid figurados made the list. Personally, the Punch Punch would have easily made my top 10 instead of the R&J Wide Churchill and I would have replaced the RA and JL Robustos with the Punch DC and the Hoyo de Monterrey Elegantes, as the newer releases for both have pleasantly exceeded my expectations.

So. Many. Robustos. I wonder if the D4 is #1 because of availability and the Punch Punch didn’t make the list because it’s harder to source. I know that robustos are the favorite vitola these days but I remember when the corona gordas were the preferred size in some polls and the Mag 46 was king. That said, I wouldn’t turn down even one on that list.

It would be 1000:1 for D4 produced 23/24 to Punch Punch.

When you vote on 23/24 production, you can only vote on what you have tasted. Twin edge of the sword. D4 were produced in good quantities through this period but they also delivered an exceptionally high 91+ score mark in the member polls. Well done.
