Puros Y Vino Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 A few months ago, a local here (Toronto) was selling what he had claimed to be BHK59 Piramides from El Laguito. They were nice looking rolls TBH. But everyone with some CC knowledge under their belt balked at it. It looks like the guy may have had a leg to stand on after all? This article hints at a BHK58 + 59 being released for the 15th Anniversary of the Behike line. I remember there were BHK58 naked rolls being passed around in small circles for sampling amongst some cigar illuminati. 😁 Word was they got shelved. Releasing both for the 15th Anniversary would definitely be a big way to celebrate the marca, while adding some much needed $$'s to Habanos' bottom line. Thoughts? https://www.cigars-connect.com/en/a-behike-59-figurado-also-in-preparation/ 1 1 1
Popular Post SigmundChurchill Posted November 8, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2024 I actually saw the 58s being rolled in the factory like 5 or 6 years ago, so that is not a myth. At the time, they told us they would only be sold in a special humidor. These 59's, I haven't seen before. 8

Popular Post LizardGizmo Posted November 8, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2024 Yes, they’re real and this photo and report are accurate. We were asked to give some feedback on the blend late spring as they were still finalizing blend before they were put into production. Obviously with that, we didn’t want to talk about everything until the news was out there. We brought them home and let them rest in the humidor for 30 days. It’s a very good cigar. Being a fat pyramid gives it a nice mouthfeel. There’s no ligero in the cigar which is wild. I’m assuming we can expect the launch in March for BHK anniversary, as I hear they’re in heavy production now. 58 was too strong for the line and wasn’t put into production years ago, though I think they are making small quantity for private buyers in the Middle East and China. Also given the shortage of quality wrapper, making a shorter cigar makes way more sense. They’re definitely ramping up as I’ve seen the secondary (somewhat legit, but that’s not an endorsement) sellers offering them on Facebook groups and stuff after visiting Hav. I haven’t purchased or tried any of those. I hope to have more to say in January!! 10 5

Popular Post JohnnyO Posted November 8, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2024 I had a bundle of these recently but this cigar makes no sense to me...too fat/too short, no ligero. The flavors are all there though. These are known as Atabeys. But that's why those marketing geniuses at Habanos SA get the big bucks. John 6

They must have sold side door tens of thousands given how many unbanded are around. Of these, you can only guess how many are legit. 50%? 40...30....20...10? I love how big a market has developed for pre release fakes. A fraudsters wet dream...no box, bands or prior tasting...just bandless cigars, a story, and an international queue of buyers. 6 1 1
Chas.Alpha Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 I had a guy send me a couple of unbanded BR 109’s a few months back… 🙄 1 2

BrightonCorgi Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 They look terrific. Enjoy them without any backstory.

Popular Post LizardGizmo Posted November 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 30, 2024 Things have changed! A re-tooled BHK58 will launch in March for the 15th anniversary of Behike. It will not be the original blend which was ultimately canceled for being too strong compared to the other cigars in the line. BHK59 - the Atabey - has been pushed to 2026 to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Cohiba. It remains in production. Given the shortage of quality wrapper, I'm surprised at this decision. BHK58 will be the largest cigar in the catalog at 58 x 7". 7 2
