What's up for the weekend folks?

 

man Cave refurbishment this coming week means prep this weekend. eek. My two contractors (tweedle dee and tweedle dumber) arrive Monday and while not the two sharpest tools in the shed ....(they were the only ones available this side of Christmas)..... they mean well and should be able to get this done.  

Gardening (which I love), BBQ and cigars will fill in this weekend. Quiet one!

College homework, spending some time with the wife and dog, I'll probably fit in a 64 padron maduro and a vegas famosos, grilling some tuna and sea bass tonight for sure. Only 3 classes left until I graduate, full time job and full time school is brutal.

Getting in another of the final rounds of golf for the year tomorrow with my friends that have been mostly absent all summer. Since these guys all have kids with a lot of sports and other activities, I've been playing as a single. It will be a lot of laughs, insults, and foul language. Can't wait! Hopefully we can get in a couple more rounds but it's cooling off fast and the geese are flocking.

Started the weekend with a Fundie to celebrate the last warm day of the year (over 20 degree C). Got Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend so turkey and naps will be in my future!

Tomorrow (Sunday)...no idea yet except working.

Burgundy wine tasting with some friends for Sat. Coffee with mates and a chilled out rest of day for Sunday.

See the old farm boss on the truck? Perfect weather to cut some more firewood for the old man. I came home from work yesterday and he had his saw out cutting trees down. He will be 87 in December.  I guess I'll take the hint and get busy.

My other half talk me into going to town to listen to the music. That's how we roll in the big city of Mayodan. Just throw up a stage in the middle of the only stoplight, a couple of barricades, and grab a chair or haybale, and an orange cup for the alcohol and boogie on down!

Managed to see the girls for about two seconds on the jet skis. 2 hrs later they came back. Not for me with an injured shoulder. Good to head home for a few days before going back to the city

Roof top pool and bar for me atop of the Kings Park Tennis Club for some shoulder rehab and to lounge around a little.

Will spend the weekend cleaning-up from hurricane Milton and getting all the outdoor furniture out from inside the house. We got lucky, tornado only a mile away flattened a bunch of our neighbor's homes. All we had was some branches down and a hell of a lot of leaves to pick up. Below is from a past hurricane, these are about 2 to 3 feet tall  - the waves during Milton were 4 to 5 feet this time as the first outer band passed through.

Most interesting part of the storm is the picture below.  A whole flock of Frigate birds that came into land from the ocean.  All us fisherman know that we're lucky to find a single or two out flying together in the ocean when we are looking for bait balls.  Must have been about 50 all wind surfing the hurricane above our home.
