Coffee and CCs

Looking to glean the wisdom of the forum with this one. I’m curious to know what CCs pair well with coffee? I’m talking early morning coffee, with cream, watching the sun rise, and basking in the quietness of the day that is to come. So, what are y’all’s thoughts? What CCs pair well with coffee, any kind, any time of day. The subtext of this query is that I love coffee; it’s my lifeblood.

That’s what’s up. I haven’t tried the Quai D'Orsay marca yet, but I expect to explore within the next month or two. Appreciate your recommendations!

One of the smaller Trinidads or Cohibas would be great. Something from the Hoyo "du" series of cigars.

I have drunk coffee for so many years that like a great number of our members, I've evolved in my tastes to not taking it with milk or sugar a long time ago. As a result of that, I have developed a greater tolerance to drinking coffee with cigars, as I normally do. So to answer the question...I can take coffee with literally any cigar. In essence, that's not a very helpful answer but I would hazard to guess that some of you reading this can relate to my predicament!

For the exact thing you want in the morning, I think the Fonseca Cosacos, which I maintain is the most underrated of any CC. Also good in that morning slot with a coffee: any Upmann, any Hoyo, any QD.

Cohibas I could see. Hadn't thought of Trinis, though!

Copy! I'm seeing some marcas getting the repeated mention, which means they must be a solid recommendation!

Right now I'm watching the sun come up with a coffee and a Quai D'Orsay 50. You could do a lot worse than a QD 50.

I like a Monte Media Corona with a cappuccino or flat white.

I prefer a smaller Rg in the morning with a strong coffee, like a Rafael Gonzales Panetelas Extra.

Trini Reyes are great with black coffee. My ‘go to’ on the weekend while reading the morning papers.

I totally can relate to that. Opening up a bag of fresh coffee beans and taking a deep breath with my nose inside of it is almost as delightful as when I do it with a box of cigars 😍

A PLPC goes great with a cappuccino. They are not CCs but any of the smaller Nudies (like Ninfas and PCs) also go great with coffee.

I start my day with a QD50 or a PLPC and a nice cuppa espresso, nice sweet spot.

IMHO Montecristo No.5 is the ultimate espresso pairing.

I pair all my cigars with coffee. Without coffee, the smoking experience isn't just the same. Best CCs to pair with coffee: Montecristo PE and Vegueros Entretiempos, Monte No.5, Bolivar RC.

So far, coffee has been good with every cigar no matter if it's CC's or NC's.

I’m gonna be useless and say all of them. 9/10 cigars for me are smoked after my morning run with a coffee.

I'm pretty much a coffee snob alternating between small batch pour-overs and the trusty Technivorm Moccamaster.  My favorites with coffee listed in order of enjoyment -- since you threw in the morning sunrise factor:

1. SCdlH Principes (Medium Roast coffee with a little creme brings out the best flavor in these CCs)
2. Boli CJ (only with strong Black Coffee, complimenting the leather and earth in the Boli's)
3. Parti Short (that Partagas baking spice goes with anything in the morning, especially the lighter, fruiter pour-overs)
4. RG P (The walnut flavor of the cigar compliments any coffee with chocolate under tones)
5. Ninfas N7. (The Ninja's just hit 6 months in the humi bringing out a unique raisin flavor)

As far as which ones I smoke the most with coffee -- it would be in the exact reverse order. Only 2 boxes of SCdlH Principe's left...these are being rationed for that "perfect morning" cigar with coffee.

Every, single, one. It's the ONLY thing I drink with cigars.  If I was out of coffee for some reason, I wouldn't have a cigar.

Cold brew is the best version for what it's worth, mixed with milk. Extra good is any chocolate cigar like a Monte.

Coffee is usually only thing that I drink when smoking any cigar either a CC or a NC.
