So Hamlet asks me if I would like to ride along to pick up his son Thiago from his local school.  No probs. Find some thongs/flip flops and head out in my Tshirt and cracking flowery pink and yellow board shorts that I picked up on Rodeo Drive. Hammy had his hot pink boardies on and his normal half ton of bling. Interstingly, we both wear a red Partagas ring on our wedding finger. 

School pickup is an experience. Parents line up and take it in turns to approach the pickup Nazi teacher who then using a walkie talkie calls in behind the locked doors. A child miraculously appears. Next.  The teacher is well aware Hamlet is divorced but picks up Thiago from school regularly when he is in town. 

So Hammy and I line up. 

I say good afternoon to the teacher as does Hammy.  

She looks us up and down and puts her Walkie Talkie to her mouth. 

"Thiago's parents are here".
