Salomones Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 This year it starts in Spain. The new prices were published last weekend. Cohiba, BHK and other high-priced editions increase by around 5%. Regular/Standard between 10-15%. Exceptions here are Piedras, Rafael Gonzalez and Quintero with ~5%. Only Trinidad remains exactly stable in price. 2 1
Pmo13 Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 Glad I snuck in one more box last night. I can only imagine what’s going to happen when the repercussions of Hurricane Ian are fully felt on supply. Got a few hundred CCs squirreled away, but it’s probably gonna be 5:1-10:1 NCs from here on out. When then well runs dry, it stays dry.

Lunettesman Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Well... In Switzerland prices have hiked January 1st. I didn't know. Wanna know the new price? Box of D4 is 602 swiss franc. Which is about 700usd... For the rest. Happy new year. 3
Popular Post Lt4-396 Posted January 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted January 10, 2024 Sadly, I am at the point that I no longer care. I've been priced out for a bit, while I still purchase "affordable" favorites I can no longer or want to purchase like I did in the past. I already have enough for my lifetime and honestly, with the new FOH releases I'm reaching for Cubans less and less and the cubans I do smoke are custom rolls. The next few years should be interesting regarding supply/demand and forced scarcity. I truly feel for those just getting started or have yet to build up a sizable inventory. I just couldnt do it at todays prices, especially when you consider the % of duds or straight unsmokable cigars per box/cab and that is regular production, forget about RE's/EL's. 7
Arabian Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Remember the price increase is to make sure the quality of Cuban tobacco remains excelente. You don't want a plugged stick right? 🙂 3
jazzboypro Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 At this point I don't care if it's $700/box or $10000/box. My wife is going to Cuba next month, she'll try to find some decent cigars for me and that will surely be my last CC purchase. Sadly no matter the price there will always be enough people with enough money to buy them. 1
LLC Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 I could keep buying and was still buying until last fall even though I have more Cuban cigars than I’m going to need. But, when it gets to the point where you feel your being asked to bend over every time you make a purchase, I’ll just enjoy what I have and not have to worry about buying more. Salomones Posted January 25, 2024 Author Posted January 25, 2024 Today, distributors in Germany got new pricelist for 1th of March. Same increases like Spain few weeks ago. F. E. a D4 will be 19,5€ 🫣 1 1 1
dangolf18 Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Man these price increases are relentless....at least we had it good for so many years. Just wish I didn't it for granted. 1
ha_banos Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 We're seeing 600£+ discounts being offered on Cohiba Medio Siglo over here. I mean, still crazy big prices after discount! But it's happening. 1
Rhinoww Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 This is nuts. I was just bidding on a watch and dropped out at a cost below a box of mid-ranged Cuban sticks. A box would last me two months, likely less. The watch, a lifetime. And the watch will always have a resale value. Nuts. I will remember the good times fondly. Another 10-15% when global inflation is running low single digits is just a wow moment. Makes one take stock.

Biggerfaster40 Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 At least y’all have large piles of old priced Cubans. I got into this a few months ago. It’s probably too painful to even get into it at this point. BummerSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 1

That’s why Trini is 7% - though only the short went up, by 10 cents. What the list does confirm is that the “Global Pricing Strategy” for Cohiba/Trini is officially dead (in reality it was always DOA). HK taxes went up way more than 4% and will probably get another significant hike in the next 12-18 months. 5 1

Namisgr11 Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 Buying vintage becomes a more and more attractive option, provided their prices don't also skyrocket like the current releases.

Well, if consumers continue to buy up all of the new production that Cuba offers along with all of the vintage cigars, both at steadily increasing prices that crush the overall rate of inflation in major consumer countries, then no reason. But as the example of Trinidad shows, the consumers can reach their limits.

I noted recently a 650£ discount on medio siglo single box. Still a ridiculous price after that. Let's see.

Sent me down the rabbit hole. 1
